bridges in novigrad missing, all storage chests have disappeared, men who carry boxes look like they're doing some sort of russian dance, from a distance all the sailboats look like they are loaded up and now in 'calm before the storm' all the wild hunt warriors are literally standing like statues while ciri attacks them and i can't move forward with the quest. any suggestions please and thanks?

This is an installation problem, plain and simple. Your best recourse of action would be to uninstall the game and reinstall with the latest installers.

I would invite you to peruse the official reddit page where many of the users have reported similar issues and glitches, you'll get more... helpful replies there.

i don't think it is an installation problem though- i've already done 2 playthroughs with no problems, including both expansions- and it's only been playing up since the most recent patch last week. maybe the patch didn't install properly (or is that what you meant?) if that's the case, is there a way to re-download the patch? i'm on pc

4. From a distance all the sailboats look like they are loaded up and now in 'calm before the storm'
5. All the wild hunt warriors are literally standing like statues while ciri attacks them [Try disabling Galaxy overlay]

Nobody is going to tell me that all those problems are caused by simply patching your game. Nobody is going to tell me that a company like CD Projekt Red are going to release such a destructive patch. It's nonsense.

Exactly as I said, an installation problem.
