Hey guys, do you think CDPR/GOG will ever sell their Gwent cards again? I think it'd be an awesome game to play with some of my friends who have never played The Witcher before. However, I'm not about to spend hundreds of dollars to try and get the four decks that are currently available.

I think it'd be an easy way to make some extra money, and it'd make fans of Gwent really happy. Not to mention it's promoting the game whenever it is played or seen on shelves.

I'm not looking for a real answer here. Just curious what the community thinks about the possibility and/or interest of a standalone Gwent set in the future. Any thoughts?

All 4 decks have already been released. XBox One's Collector Edition had the Nilfgaardian and Northern Realms gwent decks. The PS4 and PC had the Monster and Scoia'tael with the HoS expansion.
It doesn't make much sense to release half a deck for XBox One and the other half for PS4 and PC. I'm guessing the missing decks will be released with the BaW expansion.

I smell legal 'partnership' agreements (exclusivity) at work. If there's demand for such a product, why would they not make money from it, instead of sitting on it?

Hmm, good point. I hope it's a possibility one day! The game is so simple, yet hard to master. I think it could be pretty successful if it was ever sold on its own.

I would be quite interested in that as well! Although I do think the available decks would have to be expanded somewhat to really keep the game interesting... In the online version, once you have gained access to all cards (via quests etc) you can assemble a pretty much unbeatable deck, so I am not sure playing would be appealing for very long (once the novelty of "Hey, look at me, I'm playing Gwent!" wears off). I think HoS added a nice twist with the new leader cards, unfortunately there are few worthy opponents to play against.

As for availability, there are some pretty good instructions available on how to make your own cards... Well,it ain't the real thing, and whether it's morally right to do so... But the option is out there, at least.
