I wanted to get a few opinions on what others think about the Runewright. Overall I like the enchantments and the ability to add sockets, they are a nice addition which I definitely want to use. The cost of upgrading him...well that's debatable.

My biggest issue is the fact that he's placed at such a late stage in the game. I find that the level 30+ range in Vanilla NG is basically the end of my playthrough. I've done almost everything there is and what remains is easy content that won't even make use of these cool upgrades.

Sure I could take these upgrades into the ending of the main quest line, but even that doesn't warrant spending all my coin to upgrade both Geralt, and the Runewright. I'd be better off taking all my coin into NG+.

I haven't played NG+ yet with HoS, but I assume that the level requirements for the Runewright's quests will be around 60+ (correct me if I'm wrong). If this is the case, then I'll run into the same issue as Vanilla NG.

Does anyone else have this same issue with the Runewright or am I missing something?

No issue with the runewright.
Branched off to HoS during my third playthrough (no NG+), and what he (the runewright) offers is just fabulous!
With the right gear and runestones you can whirl anything to death in no time (sword and story). Almost feals like cheating.
Anyway, I like his accent, too :)...

EDIT:

Forgot >>>>Sure I could take these upgrades into the ending of the main quest line<<<<
From what I think I can remember, the main quest line has ended the moment you started HoS, only the side quests (treasure hunts, etc.) remain. So ...

You can start HoS at any point in your playthrough, but preferably around the 30s. I hadn't finished the story yet and was able to do HoS.

Anyway I think you missed my point a little. At level 30+ I didn't find much use for the runewright because i was already killing things with ease. That's what made it feel redundant for me to upgrade the runewright using over 15k crowns.

There was another post on how they are working on a fix for the enchantments not carrying over to NG+ so I may wait for that.

Maybe I'll be able to make more use of the runewright for Blood and Wine? I hope that's the case.

EDIT: I have no issue with his enchantments, I actually really like them! I just want to get more out of them, instead of using them on monsters that I outlvl already.
