Hi there! I am COMPLETELY new to GoG. Around 4 o clock I went to GameStop to purchase Witcher 3 for PC. They gave me a code telling me to go to www.gog.com/redeem and I did. I installed the game and went back to GOG Library. I clicked on The Witcher 3 and it didn't say play anywhere. How do I actually boot up the game? I don't know where the .exe file is located to boot it up. This is extremely confusing.

What did you click on?Game should of setup icon on desktop.
You don't play game from library, only DL.
If you didn't use Galaxy then do this:
Go into game folder and find the (exe)(launch) file.Double click to make sure it's the
right file.Game should start.End game.Just send to desktop and that's it.

Go in your library. Click on your game (here: Witcher 3). A popup opens. There is a blue button for GOG-Galaxy (You can use this. It's like Steam but it is in Beta and I won't recommend that. You can read about a lot of problems here). Under the blue button is "game downloads". (Right of game downloads you can change operation system and language if the game supports this.) There you should see files named "Witcher 3....". Click on them and save all of them on your hard disk. After you have downloaded all parts start the .exe and install it.

I went to GoG galaxy and it showed The Witcher 3 on the side of the program. It said not yet played of course so I clicked on it and it brought me to a screen kinda like Steam. The only thing that was wrong was that the play button was blocked out and it said "Waiting for release". The game HAS come out of course, and it did show as installed so why would it not even be marked as not out yet? The program is in beta like you said, but it feels like it should work even if it's in beta. I payed 60 dollars for the game so i'm just distraught. Anymore suggestions for fixing GoG Galaxy or other possibilities?

That's the thing. I was stupid enough to forget where I put the game files. I used GoG Downloader and GoG Galaxy.

I have the shortcut on my desktop now but when I double click it it says this "Thank you for installing the pre-download version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. All you need to do now to start you adventure is download and install the last small piece of the game, which becomes available upon the game's release on May 19th. This can be downloaded with GOG Galaxy, or manually from GOG.com - whichever you prefer." I went to GOG Galaxy and it showed 3 things to install. The base game, Patch 1.02, and Patch 1.06. I'm going to try the patches now because the game is 24 Gigs so i'm not doing that again.

Sorry for double message but I think I got it working! Thank you for your help!
From FAQ:

Q.: I installed the game and it is well after 19th May, Galaxy still displays 'Waiting for release' and the 'Play' button is greyed out. What can I do?

A.:
1. Exit Galaxy
2. Open it up again
3. Select the game, click More -> Manage -> Verify/Repair
4. Wait for the patching process to finish
5. Play

Thanks! It went through an update and the play button was actually clickable. Solved.
