The thing is, right now, it almost feels like Geralt is floating when starting and ending his move.

I know they put a great effort to tie each animation into each other but I'm already hating the fact that Geralt is still moving for a sec even when I lift my finger up - it may look great but it feels very unresponsive.

The same aplies to the beginning of his move when it takes a while before he goes full speed.

While playing the game I really feel like I don't have full control of the character because of this, and that's something that was 100% better in Witcher 2.

Anyone feels the same that those animation finishers weren't good idea?
Im noticing this as well... It feels weird and, well, unresponsive....
Yeah i get the same feeling when running/walking in town etc, i take my hand of keyboard and Geralt still seem to take a step or two ahead. Because of this i have bumped into alot of NPC so fare. xD

Trying this out now with a controller, maybe it will feel better.

this is easily my least favorite in fact only complaint of the game so far but its pretty big...wtf

do ppl with xb1 controllers feel the same, maybe it is time to upgrade, but i kinda doubt thats it...
Xbox 360 here, and yes the movement feel kind of funky, specially when making close turns.
I've been thinking the same thing.
Ive used a 360 controller and xb1 controller and its the same. I rather enjoy the witcher games with a controller and seeing as how they developed the game with the controller in mind, I figured why not.
Yes, navigating towns on foot is very difficult, especially if there are things to get stuck on. Most of the time you glide around obstacles so it's not so bad, but there's enough getting stuck to make it annoying. It's like I am playing an MMO with a bit of lag..
You know guys, I am playing on a potato of a laptop. I have no idea what movement issues are you referring to. Absolutely no problems with navigation. I think you will just need to get used to it. All moves have a certain feel of weight to it. Maybe that is confusing. Personally I love it. Doesn't feel arcadey. Feels like I am wearing armor and waving a god damn sword.

Anyhow, playing on keyboard and mouse. I noticed turning on hardware cursor eliminated cursor floating :P

i thought the witcher 2 controls were laggy and unresponsive but...damn...they are lighting fast compared to The Witcher 3

kinda bummed about how unresponsive they are.

Yeah, I'll join the party, W3 controls lack precision and have input lag. Plus "new"©™® "improved"©™® PC controls feel odd overall, I don't really see much of improvements from W2, but I don't get the changes.
So it seems the problem persist on xbox controller and on ps4 too, which is very unfortunate.

I guess we either have to get used to it or we are completely out of luck with current build.
The movement alone is pretty bad, but add in the fact that you have to rotate your character to face an object to interact with it and it becomes multiple times worse. Trying to navigate in some situations has led to me jumping off a cliff while in some other situations i keep hitting a wall every corner i take because the character turns in a curve/so slowly. This is not the only clunky system in the game, the more i play the more problems i find. Shielded enemies are so damn annoying that the first mod i will download for this game is one that removes them.
I had this problem , LOCK the fps to 30 in the video options. It solves every camera/movement issue.

I made a thread on this. I do not know why the game feels so much better at 30fps but it does. I feel kinda bad saying this game is a bad port, but I can tell you from what I've experienced thus far, it seems like it was never intended to be played with more than 30fps.

Lock it to 30 and you will be amazed by how smoother it is. It's weird.
