Hi,
I have a problem. My play button for The Witcher 3 isn't showing up, so i can't play the game.
Do you have any ideas how to fix this issue?
Thanks

Play button in GOG Galaxy? Is it grayed out?

Maybe try launching the game from desktop or shortcut icon, or the .exe file?

Should be in

C:/ GOG Games / The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

There should be an .exe file there you can double click to start your game.

I can't find it. I only downloaded the game from the GOG Galaxy and the patch 1.01.
Nevermind you already have patch 1.01.

Whenever I click on it it says that the installed game wasn't found and I need to install it again. Crap

It's further down under the bin/x64 folder.

I have the same problem but it seems like the problem may be that the gog client isn't auto updating with the 1.01 patch and when you run the exe it wants you to have that patch first.

Guys please help me I don't know what to do and I want to play this game as fast as possible :/ I don't know if I should reinstall the whole thing or what
When I download the patch and logout, the client starts making something with these files and in the end it says that the update failed. Please help me!

Darn , I don't know what to do, since I did not use GAlaxy. I just downloaded from the website.

Have you tried the solutions in this link

www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt/play_button_disabled

If you don't need to redownload all 22 Gigs, then just try reinstall.

I had the same problem, and I knew what was going on. After exit witcher3, the program is still running in the background, so if I click the witcher3.exe, the error shows that the witcher3 is already running. Simply close the witcher3.exe in "task manager", and the problem solved.

the patch fails to detect the game , it says that " game installation not found"

Someone posted this, worth a try

here is what i've done :
- open gog galaxy (optional)
- click configure and move installation game folder to other drive (optional)
- copy the previous w3 installation folder to the new folder (optinal)
- close gog galaxy
- open the new w3 folder and delete goggame-1207664643.info and goggame-galaxyFileList.ini
- open gog galaxy and wait there should be verificarion doing follow by 600+ MB download to install

if that didn't work
- close gog galaxy
- open the new w3 folder and delete goggame-1207664643.info and goggame-galaxyFileList.ini (if there any)
- open gog galaxy and uninstall the game
- click more -> manage ->import folder and select the w3 installation folder
- wait there should be verificarion doing followed by 600+ MB download to install
- play (hopefully)

aklawi: worked for me
another way to fix this problem as to what i did.
problem: cant PLAY the game as the PLAY in GOG galaxy is disabled and it fails to update game
solution: [GOG galaxy is still crappy. Not yet STEAMish quality.]
--uninstall the Witcher 3 (yeah do it)
--uninstall GOG galaxy (screw it)
--use GOG.com
download game using GOG.com downloader -(it will download the core/installer progam + the patch to play)
i know it's a bitch and long wait as what happened to me when I redownloaded this huge 22+GB file.
after that
--install the game that you downloaded using gog.com downloader
