I've spent about 40 hours on 1.0.7 so far and I haven't experienced any new bugs apart from achievements not unlocking.

Maverick89: 1.07 it's a mess, frames decreased, bugs, quest failed for no reason, no achievements. When will CDPR fix this?
It is not uncommon for people to experience problems/bugs after a new patch, but:

1.) Your post really sounds like whining. Try to be specific about the bugs/problems you have. For example, tell us what framerate (and at which graphical options) did you menage to achieve pre-1.0.7 and compare it to the new patch. It would also be helpful if you tell us which specific quests did the game fail (and at which stage of those quests did the bug/problem appeared).

2.) Actually Dr. Doom has a point. Go to the official CD Projekt Red forums and create a detailed thread about the problems you have so the developers can know what to look for (or find an already ongoing thread containing your problems).

Hickory: Quite. If the flood of forum complaints from, what I can only guess are, console players/converts, is to be believed (it is not), then CDPR have willy-nilly slapped some code changes together with absolutely no oversight or quality control, and utterly broken the game. That is what these people who can't even install the game and patches in the first place are talking about. It's ludicrous. No, worse, it's pitiable.
Yes, and these "diagnoses" are often made in a few seconds and after just as lengthy a thought process, I'm sure...And...if you call them on it...why, by George, now you're a "hater"--and I've got to confess I have no idea what that even is...! Now, "Mad hatter," that, I can understand...;)

Whereas I have it on good authority that the sane person says, "Hmmmm...I do not see others reporting the same things--perhaps my problem is on my end...perhaps, even in my system configuration somewhere...?"

The critic, masterful as he is, goes on to think to himself:

"But No--of course that cannot be it...! After all, forsooth, I myself am 'perfection on a stick' so the fault *must* lie with the game developer...! It only stands to reason that I cannot be wrong. Of course--how brilliant of me to have deduced what a bloody mess this patch is--I'm so smart that I've seen it even when the game developer was clueless! I am brilliant...! The world will thank me for my timely and beneficial analysis! I will be esteemed as is my birthright--as is...my...destiny! I...love...me!"

(You and I should then slink away like the impossible, worthless curs that we are...!...:D)

Ineptitude then. A rose by any other name, 'bard'. :)
I'm not sure why the unpleasantness is necessary, but 1.07 caused problems for me. It instantly crashed the game, every time. Playing around with various setting including frame rate and changing the default windowed mode and the like eventually improved things quite a lot, but there were still a number of further crashes up until the end. I had only had a few crashes total up until then and all I did was install 1.07. It wasn't that big a deal for me, since I was actually near the end of the game, but had I not been, I think I would have waited for 1.08.

I thought there was some stuttering, which I had not seen before, but... like I said, I was near the end of the game, so maybe that was just me.

Also, no mods ever installed and I've never owned a console in my life.
Can someone confirm whether or not achievements are being registered properly on Galaxy? I'd like to finish the game but if achievements won't register I'd rather wait.

Hickory: More like, "I don't have all the game modifications you have, therefore my install is not broken".

waltc: It's always amusing to see people chime in and say things like "1.07 it's a mess, frames decreased, bugs, quest failed for no reason, no achievements. When will CDPR fix this?"...all the while without ever asking if anyone else is experiencing the same thing...;) Of course, to them maybe it doesn't matter if *anyone* else has such problems...you think? Gee, I'm not experiencing any of it--but who cares, eh?...;)

And the one about "Achievements"...? As in "no achievements"...? Are there people in the world who at this late date don't realize that "Achievements" is a gimmick started by Steam that lies outside the game and, indeed, has nothing to do with the game??? So how can 1.07 be criticized for having no achievements when the entire game has no achievements--except those contrived by Steam as an afterthought & a gimmick, wholly external to the game itself...;) IE, racking up all the achievements or none of them doesn't change the game score a single point--the game doesn't care. (Now GOG has picked it up, too, in Galaxy--the "achievements" gimmick, that is.) As if the game itself simply wasn't "achievement enough" LoL...;) "Achievements"...maybe "Bereavements" is more like it...;)
Yeah, I don't understand the concept of trophies/achievements. I get plenty of them all the time in steam (hard to miss them, they jump up and down on the game page at you), and they mean absolutely 0 to me. I don't use Galaxy, so none for me through gog. Now, if getting a certain amount scored me a free game/DLC/something substantial, that may make for some motivation to work toward something. Playing the game and enjoying it are "achievement" enough.

But ... I guess some people feel a sense of reward getting them, so more power to em.

It's just bloody distracting. If you want, you can disable this feature if you go to Steam -> Settings -> In-Game -> and there, uncheck 'Enable Steam Overlay While in-game' - it'll also disable in-game chat and stuff like that tho. There really needs to be a button to only disable the achievement popups.

Anyway, if you are genuinely curious about purpose of achievements and want to see a bit of them from perspective of game designers, there's a nice extra credits episode on them.

Everything that OP mentioned had been reported by others.

Well I can't even say that 1.07 is the worst patch as it will not let me install it (perhaps I'm the better for it but). It keeps telling me when I run the first part (I put both parts in their own folder) that I do not have enough room to install them. 935 gigs is NOT enough? Really? Then I truly do not need this patch.

Am I doing something wrong or is this patch buggered?

What about the solution posed in this thread?

Thanks Darkness .... I guess I violated my own principle in not looking around the forum first. I left a question over there as I'm not quite sure as how to implement the solutions over their. But I wanted to thank you.

Great, hope that thread helps. Looks like Ritualisto just posted an elaborated explanation for the solution.

Thanks for the info, that little video was entertaining!
First thing I do when I install steam is disable the overlay (this can cause problems in some games, among other things). What I meant was the game launch page where it shows achievements above the news. Wahooo, looking at it now, I got the Raw Weapon achievement in Dark Souls. That warrants celebration, a round for all :)

Didn't get around to trying the fixes but I just installed Windows 10 and then as an after thought tried the patch again .... seems to patch and work ok now. Go figure.
