I am looking at this with great interest, but have read that you need to be on-line to play. Is this true? If so, I wouldn't really consider it to be drm free, and that may sort of influence my view somewhat.

It is DRM free,and you do not need to be on-line to play.
Anyone that says that is someone that doesn't know what they are saying.
