So CDPR fixed Cave of Dreams showing up as failed *clap *clap *clap, now this level 11 Novigrad Closed City quest is failed. wtf?

Ok GOG users I found a fix. Check out the youtube video below and follow it up until the lady on the bridge, then the quest will show up as active again!

Closed city is a multistep quest that can fail on its own because its various parts seems to start independently and in various orders.

The first step should be to find a dude banging on a door that gets killed by 2 witch hunters.
You should kill them and loot all of them for a key and some documents.

After that you can do 3 other steps involving 3 other people that might have the remaining 2 keys.

1-A girl that needs help with her house
2-Thieves that need to find their 'friend'
3-Searching a house

Once you have the keys you can loot the stash.

Independently from the version of the game I've seen numerous reports of the quest failing randomly, mainly because some step were skipped or done out of order.

You sir are correct, but to avoid any issues I went directly to the house that has the safe and grabbed the letter. By doing this I made sure I had the objective "find the 3 keys the letter speaks of". Once you read the letter you get 3 objective markers leading to the keys/ quests to get them.

I got rid of them before they kill the guy. So his deas unnecesary

I think this is actually triggered by facing off with the priest demonizing the sorceress, non humans and witcher. on on one of the street leading to Heirarch Square. that's when the guy banging on the door at the fish market will spawn when you pass by that area, the the quest will be available to track. I forgat if you need to read the note he will give you if you manage to save him or loot him if he dies. you can then go place next to the tilted building. You'll find the next guy dead yo will find a note that says each of these three guys have a key to open the chest. you have to investigate the place to find the chest. You can then go to bridge towards Isle castle I think is the name. you will meet someone there, and even before you get there. I will be a fight. I actually gave them my sword. but when they tried to kill me I roasted them with igni :D

The hunters attack the guy, i kill them, guy give me the some stuff i dont remember and run away. I think you kill the hunters before they attack that why trigger didn't work for you.
