I read some posts that it doesn't seem to be actually made for more than 30 fps I mean otherwise it hitches more, the camera (if you don't have titan x). It's true, it's pretty smooth with 30 fps but I think it still should run bit better. I mean I basically get with gtx 760 40 fps with low, med or high settings each If I don't cap it. It does look pretty good, too much colors though, the fact that there isn't 1280x720 resolution even and of course this fov thing. It's especially worse if you play with a controller it feels a bit off. Mouse is bit better in that case but then there are bit awkward controls with kb.

Apart from those things, it really seems to be a great game and a better launch (and a game) than Dragon age inquisition or Witcher 2.

Edit: and that moonwraith looked awesome though.

Now the game is out and can't play it due to sickness and headache.
Day one purchase are always a mistake no matter which game :(.

IIRC, ESO didn't have an FoV slider originally either. Doesn't affect me too much, but I expect it doesn't help that the camera is locked so close to Geralt either.

Yes, the cam is very close, nausea and headache at me too.

Does that increase FOV or offer a way to zoom out as well?

Well it zoom out when changing FoV but no way to move only camera. Yet anyway. Maybe the guy doing this will add that.

Someone mentioned he might be able to move around HUD menus so that might not be an issue. I'll try Cisce's solution when I come home from work later today, thanks for posting it!

It's pretty cool, you can zoom out so it almost resembles isometric. I'm definitely playing with this, I just hope the cheat won't break with a new update. You can also zoom in case you want that.

Yes it's pretty pathetic.

Somehow i feel like alot of people use fov the wrong way... I'm playing W3 on a big TV too but I got no problem with the fov.

I used to have a link to a calculator for optimal fov per aspect ratio but I cant find it atm.

Lets ignore the fact that there are at least 2 different methods of Fov (most games use the one that everybody knows, but not all).

Skyrim has a default Fov of 55. That is narrow. That makes me sick too. Thats console dirt.

But: A healthy (natural) Fov for 16:9 is 80-84.

Everything above that, especially 100 (120 is just looool) will give you the fisheye effect. That means that graphics at the edge of your screen will get stretched. Just put a Tree in front of you and then turn until it is at the edge, youll see how it gets wider and a bit distorted.

For people who want to find out a bit more, check out those two videos. They lack good comparison footage of the fish eye effect but they explain a few things about the principle.

There are a few lets plays out there (ethan carter for example) that i cant watch because people play with extreme fisheye and that also makes me sick.

You're right Chimhog, but a slider is still better so you can test yourself. What I most want though is a zoom out feature as Geralt takes up too much space plus it's not ideal off you get surrounded. I like isometric that way, even immersion is better that way.

Still, options are good and what we expect from a PC developer.
