I completely agree with you. The next step was done by Russian developers and they were canceled due to sanctions. and CD project finished the game themselves. They just bought mods and installed beams. All the normal developers and people working on Witcher 3 have already left the company. At 4090 the game gives 40 fps.

People don't learn:

Witcher 2 are full of bugs like vanishing item after a loading save, quest bugged, storage item not working...
Witcher 3 full of bugs in the beginning finally somewhat fixed in a hurry, some dev left after this game.
Cyberpunk 2077 a huge trash game in alpha test at most in 2020, and still people believe the next-gen will be free bug?

Seriously, why people didn't look at the forum many days before the release? There are many posts where some player advised to have a backup in case of.
And for the next patch I expect 50% that there will be either no new patch or next patch not before February.

Strangely, I beat the Witcher 2 twice without experiencing bugs. I read we can still download and/or revert to the final version of W3GOTY. If we couldn't, I would use a torrent and re-acquire the game I paid for. If CDPR fails to provide the original and stable GOTY version and/or fails to fix the "complete edition" after auto-updating and breaking the game for millions of players, they will be frickin' sued, especially after the CP2077 fiasco.

Yeah, i put everything on low, my PC ain't that good but it ran this at 60 with everything on max, but now it gets to 30-35, can we have like, the OG with the gameplay changes and extra stuff without all the new graphics things instead i wonder?

Es increible que después del lanzamiento tan desastroso que tuvo CP2077 y romper todas las ilusiones y confianza depositada en CDProject, pues gracias a The Witcher 3 se la habian ganado, ahora todavia sean capaces de hundir mas la moral de la poca gente que quedaba entre los jugadores dando les apoyo.
No me puedo creer que tengan la poca verguenza de volver a repetir la historia.
Antes del lanzamiento de CP2077 comunicaron en una entrevista, con un par de ...., que los bugs desde el dia de lanzamiento serian tan imperceptibles que ni siquiera los jugadores podrian percibirlos. Claramente estaban faltando a la verdad. Ahora para terminar de dilapidar la poca reputacion que les quedaba lanzan esta mierda de next gen update que no funciona ni en un equipo de alta gama. Pero en el directo de hace una semana nos cuentan que el juego habia pasado unos altos controles de calidad, nuevamente nos toman el pelo...
El juego despues de actualizar a la 4.0 next gen... no funciona, esta rotisimo en cuanto activas el Ray Tracing.
No importa que config uses no funciona. Se puede ver que ademas ni siquiera el Trazado de Rayos hace bien su trabajo pues se pueden ver colores extraños en el suelo. Como un tono rosa tremendamente exagerado si que nada de su alrededor produzca tal destello o reflejo.
Es triste y lamentabe. Ademas corrompe las partidas. Ya no puedo seguir jugando porque al cargar la partida se cierra.
Gracias por todo CDProject. Para los próximos juegos no conteis conmigo. Jamas vuelvo a confiar en un producto vuestro. Ni Remake del TW1, ni nada de nada.
Con mentiras solo se rompe la confianza de las personas y en eso os estais convirtiendo en expertos.

Luckily I downloaded a few weeks ago the offline version of the original Goty version because I don't trust a Developer when they donate for free an update that replaces the original.
This is really messy they didn't make any info for the PC System requirement until few hours befors the lunch of this update.

On my 3080 in 3440x1440 I used to have 90-100 FPS with Hulk HD Reworked + Sweet FX.
Now I have 50-60 only when enabling Ultra+ (which should activate HD textures right?) and that is even without RT!
Adding RT gives me stable 30 FPS.
Make it possible to revert to original version!

Haven't played much. Just started the Triss quest that I've been playing in the GOTY version. Takes longer to load. Not entirely sure about the graphics maybe my eyes or my specs are dirty. And the offset in vision different enough to be a worry. But I want to have a scrap or two before I alter it.

PC's reasonable not top end, MSI I7 10700 3.8Ghz 32GB ram Win10. RTX 2070. Crappy size C drive 1/2 a gig so it's installed to the D drive 2TB which is mechanical.

My biggest beef is they deleted the install files. I wanted to zip them. A 12 hour download from here. Started at 3pm yesterday 13th finished in game at 3am today 15th

Fingers crossed so far so good.

I did zip my game directories though a few days ago. So going back shouldn't be a problem.


I've played all Witcher games never had that many problems with them. Took me a while to find the beehive Willis glitch. So, my cash start Witcher 3 (1.02 I think) was made in Feb 2016. Got up to 5,000 hours but that number seems to have disappeared from GOG. My 1.32 version has 2,199 against it.

My purpose in writing this is to give you some hope. That another install may work.

I get 60-80 fps at 4k Ultra + settings. 6900XT, 3900X. Runs great, looks great. I play with vsync off in game and Enhanced Sync turned on in the drivers. Gorgeous. Sorry you are having trouble. Doesn't seem to be afflicting me at all.

Then why post? To troll? To rub it in? I don't believe you at all. The game isn't going to magically work on your 6900xt and inferior CPU that you have when it runs like ass on mine while all other games such as RDR2 and everything else except for the piece of garbage called Elex II (running like crap for the same reasons as this W3 "update") runs fine. Cyberpunk 2077 runs and looks better than this "update" does.

yea definitely a fishy post... Its not a drivers or windows version thing. We already know people have same performance drop and problems no matter the setup.

Running the DX11 executable should give you similar performance to the older version, if using the same settings. It's DX12 and Ray Tracing that tanks performance

You can find the DX11 executable on the bin/x64 folder, not the bin/x64_dx12 folder

Thank you all for posting, I will stick with my trusted 1.32 version then until this mess is sorted out.... again..... if there are people still capable of sorting it out.

Not sure if I want to play W3 all over again - unfortunately remember it all too well to the detail - but certainly not to ruin it with non-working updates.
