Anyone else having trouble with ladder climbing?

I'm still stuck in the tutorial because of key binding problems, trying to climb down a ladder. I did find and bind the keys I need in input.settings in the [JumpClimb] section, but it doesn't seem to work.
I'm using "(Action=GI_AxisLeftY,State=Axis,Value=-1)" for climbing down and "(Action=GI_AxisLeftY,State=Axis,Value=1)" for climbing up.

Is this correct? Where do I have to put the settings / what other settings do I need to change to make ladder usage work?

By default you use the interact key + the directional movement key to climb up or down. I really don't see what you are trying to change in that specific code.

I am trying to get my keys to work, and to climb down a ladder.
Can get onto the ladder, can get up off it - but cannot climb down. Movement simply stops.

Yes, I do use the key I configured and which is displayed in the tutorial help popup.
And I did try all the letters as well. Nothing.


Since the game "keybinding" interface is useless, I have to do it in the config file; and about this I'm asking for help.
Somebody must have assigned their key and successfully completed the tutorial, surely?

You get on the ladder, press S (by default that is) to climb down. Alternatively you can jump off with SPACE.

As I wrote before - I tried the key I bound, and I tried all letter keys. All of them.

D and LShift; trying both, without success.

I just found my keybindings in input.settings are getting overwritten when I start the game.

I tried it myself as well, guess this is one of those things you cannot do without AHK.

Well, I doubt AHK is any help here, even if I didn't risk any other game accounts by using it.

Since the 1.04 patch, I can bind a lot of keys - but still no "climb down" on ladders.
That's OK as long as you can jump down without taking too much damage, but I think sooner or later there will be a long climb somewhere...

so again my question: how did you bind ladder climbing downwards to make it work?
I have tried several keys assigned to Y-axis downwards, but what works for up... strangely doesn't seem to work for down here.

Any snippets from your input.settings which work for you?

Solved by recent patch.
Took some time, but it works now.
