Can't get Geralt to use the crossbow when Vesemir gives it to him for fighting the Griffin. I use the Tab wheel to select the crossbow and it shows up in the lower left of the screen below the Thunderbolt and Swallow potions. The R and F keys activate the potions, but the scroll wheel "click" doesn't get the crossbow off Geralt's back. There must be a simple solution that I'm missing. I have a Logitech M510 mouse with a click (and tilt) scroll wheel. Is there some adjustment needed to work?
I've posted on this problem before, and I apologize for taking up more time, but I can't progress in the game until I can get the crossbow in action.

Did you select the Crossbow to close the menu with E or Left click? If not, it won't be equipped.
Check your keybindings in the Options menu to ensure the quick access item is bound to your middle mouse key. If that is bound properly, try changing that key to something else.

I think I did. I turned the dial (Aard,Yrden, etc.) till the crossbow was illuminated and then pressed E. There was a banner on that page saying that the crossbow was selected, and when I left that page the crossbow showed up in a "bubble" in the lower left corner of the screen. Geralt had the crossbow on his back in the video, but that's as far as I can go.
Did you have success with this maneuver, do you recall how you got the crossbow into action? I see that a click on the wheel is supposed to launch a bolt, but I can't get that far.
Thanks for your reply,,,and any other ideas.

Peetz, if you are still set up for a crossbow, what moves (keys, mouse buttons, wheel)do you use when you want to use the crossbow?
Thanks for your reply. I'm off to check the keybindings.

I use a controller so I never ran into the problem of the middle click not working for me.
Are you still having issues? I assume that you are using the standard keyboard setup and have not rebound any keys from their defaults.

If the Crossbow is selected in the [Tab] wheel you should have it showing at the bottom left of your screen under the other 2 items you have selected for your [F] and [R] pockets.

You should be able to auto-fire your Crossbow by quickly pressing and releasing the middle mouse button, or hold the middle mouse button to aim and release to fire.

If your Crossbow is still not activated, then I have to think that it is not bound properly. Go to the Main menu, Options. Choose Keybindings and check that the command "Use Quick Action Item" is bound to the middle mouse button. You can try re-binding that same button again and check if it works. If not, try to bind another key for that command - for example "P".

If none of that works, then there must be an issue with your mouse, or your installation.

You nailed it Peetz. I was able to bind the Quick Action item to another key. It appears that the mouse wheel click is not working. I've ordered a new mouse; meanwhile I hope that Geralt doesn't need that crossbow too much.
Sincere thanks to you (and Paladin181) for helping me solve this one.

No problem. Glad you were able to get it working.
Ahhh... good to see a plan come together.
