I just noticed that I'm missing journal entries for two characters in my journal. Gaunter O'Dimm and Geralt are both affected. Their names appear in the character list, I see the background portrait when the names are highlighted but there's absolutely no text on the right side of the screen.

Is there any way to restore the entries?

Are you using Galaxy? Verify / repair if you are.
I am using Galaxy.

Unfortunately, verifying and repairing did not correct the issue.

Losing Gaunter O'Dimm's entry is annoying but I can live with it. Losing Geralt's is awful.

You must remove all mods before verifying.

Alright, I was using two mods: One to remove loading screen video clips and another to remove the hood on the Grandmaster Feline armor.

To make absolutely sure all traces of the mods were gone, I uninstalled via Galaxy and deleted the entire <GALAXY PATH>\The Games\Witcher 3 Wild Hunt folder.

The entries are still blank after reinstalling. I even tried verifying one last time, just in case.

It's possible, even likely, that the issue is stored in your saved games. That being the case, the only option is to revert to a save before this happened, or put up with the missing entries.

Yeah, it seems that way. I keep a lot of save games so I took a look. The last save file that has a working journal is 25 hours prior to my latest save. It was just before starting that Warble of a Smitten Knight quest.

Guess I'm out of luck.

I opened a support ticket with CDPR just in case they can repair the save file or at least use it to correct the bug.

Ack, that's a bummer. Good luck with CDPR support.
Yeah, it happened to me with O'Dimm. Just O'Dimm.

Actually kinda creepy. And fitting. xD

Same here. O'Dimm's entry is missing and geralt's journal entry is missing too. It seems this happened somewhere after patch 1.22. Unfortunately, I've played a lot since the last save with the entries so it would be painful to return to the last unbroken save.

And yes, that is kinda distracting in terms of roleplay - o'dimm's and geralt's entries are the only ones missing.

Same here, I don't have O'Dimm's and Geralt's character entries. I'm not using any mods, so that isn't the issue here. This definitely happened post 1.22 patch. Did anyone land on a fix?

I have made the same topic on CDPR forums and maybe it would be a good thing to copy my last post from there:

I should probably add something about my current progress in the game. I have finished the main part and HoS addon. The last save file with the entries about Geralt and O'Dimm intact was made while plaing BaW addon by the time I started upgrading Corvo Bianco. The first 3 main quest of the addon were completed. Game version was 1.12 (13th of june). My next save was made a week later, 18 of june (game version was already 1.22), i've done a couple of side quests, won some gwent games and so on but haven't progressed in main quest chain. My guess is that one of these side quests is somehow broken and causes the said issue.

I have also started a new game (to beat it on max difficulty) and complited that just a couple of days ago, getting the Walked the Path achievement. Then i returned to my main game (back in Toussaint) to find out that the glossary entries are broken, and for quite a long time.

Maybe someone who has completed BaW or has a save file somewhere near the end of BaW could check if the entries about Geralt and Gaunter O'Dimm are there on not? I am really interested if it is just my case or not.

So, again, if you have finished BaW or somewhere near the finish could you please check your glossary and tell if geralt's and o'dimm's character entries are there? :)

I have completed the entire game, all DLC, all quests. The entries for Gerald and Gaunter O'Dimm are there and intact. They are still there in NG+ . This is a corrupt installation that does this, not the game.
Hm, but if the currupt installation is causing the problem then all of my saves in all my games should be without those entries. More like corrupt save files (like you said before).

A friend of mine have checked one of his last save files: geralt's entry was gone, but o'dimm's was there. So I think there is a bug of sorts (somewhere in BaW content) that spoils your save files. But it seems the bug is avoidable, if some of us haven't noticed it.
Here's another link to this bug's description if someone's interested (in attachement).

So, maybe it is the Warble of a smitten knight quest that makes this bug appear.

I've found this info on witcher-wild-hunt.mmmos-dot-com but i'm not allowed to post any links for some reason, sorry.
