First of all, sorry if there already is a thread about this.

Second of all, emirite or emirite? I absolutely adore Gwent and really wish I was able to play it with friends. Therefore, I put forth the idea of Gwent being released as a standalone game, either in the vein of Hearthstone (which doesn't hold a candle to Gwent in terms of entertainment, tbh), or perhaps an actual physical card game.

I may be crying hopelessly with no chance of anything like this happening, but I certainly can dream. And I enjoy talking about my dreams sometimes.

Best Regards,

J.

As for the physical copy, IIRC there are physical gwent cards that come with the Xbone copies.
I agree this needs to happen.

The Witcher Adventure Game was garbage, so many bugs and flaws.

That said a stand alone Qwnt game could be fun, especially if they put some effort into it. Like Blizzard did with hearthstone
Love Gwent, but it definitely has some balance issues,

Spies are way too powerful, to the point that since Nilfgaard has the most, their faction is automatically the best. (Their 4th leader ability is pretty overpowered as well) On top of the fact that they have a huge amount of 10 point cards.

At least the Northern faction has some spies as well, the Scoia'tael and Monster faction have none which makes them horrible imo. (So easy to scorch all their combo cards as well or shut them down with weather cards cause they have jack for artillery.)

I also question their ranking system for certain cards. Sorceresses should be really high up there, but they're mostly like 4-7 power, while some random pathetic Nilfgaard army guys are 10s.

Look at Sabrina for example, she's a freaking 4, yet she caused that epic curse to occur in Witcher 2.

Have to disagree here, spies are awesome yes, but the skirmish type units that draw all units of similar type from your deck are the most powerful cards in the game I’d say. Once you have sufficient cards of this type, it is safe to increase your deck size quite a bit. I count the first card of the type as 1 and then add the rest to my deck and don’t count them towards my 22 card limit. So the elves and monsters are the two best decks I’d say once they flesh out their decks with lots of those types of cards.

Then when you draw your hand, try and discard all but one card of the same type if possible, since you’ll be pulling everything out of the deck with the play of the first card. In fact this is why it’s important to create decks larger than just 22 cards so you don’t draw too many of the same type card as part of your initial 10 card hand.

Make Gwent a real card game !
Seeing how there are two physical decks in the Xbone Collector's Edition, I think it's safe to assume they will eventually show up on the witcherstore as well.

Still, I imagine there's just...one of each card in one deck, if that. And a physical deck won't allow me to play the game with friends overseas. So I'll still want a standalone online game. :C
