I just fought a level 42 Wight. I am level 45. Yet I hit it three times with freeze bombs and used Axii on it just as the beastery says, I also hit him at least fifty times with strong hits (and I do mean 50!), and could only get its health down about 80%!

It felt like I was fighting a level 42 monster while I was just level 5!

And this isn't the only time levelling seemed out of whack.

As anyone else come across this problem?

Try changing the setting to Enemy Upscaling "off."
I have the same problem. I started "Heard of Stone" and it is unplayable for me. It is too difficult. :/ The game without DLC was amazing, but now I start to hate this game due to difficulty.

The devs can't be everbody's darling, mengzi. Intelligent, talented players have learned so much in the main game that they are seeking for a bigger challenge in the expansions.

You can't choose a lower difficulty level?

Haha, indeed. Thx a lot for your reply. I'm already on the "story mode". The Quest Level was 31 and I'm lvl 35 I think. Yesterday I was able to beat the "big Frog" under the city. I think I will need more drinks, magic and such thinks to beat the enemy on expension Pack. What a pity!

That's the trick, mengzi. Things get easier and easier if you use that stuff. Example Toad Prince and his weaknesses:

1. Geralt needs Superior Golden Oriole. The toad prince may be so poisonous as he wants – his strategy is counterproductive if Geralt uses this potion. It protects him against poison and even heals him.

2. If you know that the toad prince burns like tinder - and have Superior Dancing Star - then the fight is over in about one minute (Death March):

(Geralt Lvl 27, Vanilla)

If Geralt expands his repertoire then his master will regain his playfulnes, promised.

It seems it's only a part of Blood and Wine, and I am now seeing the enemy levels more logically in terms of difficulty of killing them.
