Why is my "update" 48.76 GB??? when from what I've read, it's supposed to be around 2. I have very slow internet and 50 GB takes 100 (ONE HUNDRED) hours to download. GOG support is useless.

crappy "update" downloads WHOLE 4.02 game thats why https://www.gog.com/forum/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt/files_for_401_hotfix_update_are_missing_cant_update_to_402

If you've got slow internet, I'd advise to not use the client and to use the offline installers (which you can download in 4GB chunks) instead. Provided you downloaded the update installers at the time, you could theoretically progress from 4.00 -> 4.00 HF1 --> HF 2 --> 4.01 --> 4.01 HF --> 4.02 --> 4.02 HF (when it comes to the offline installers) fairly easily.

Thanks, for the good explanation, I was also wondering why the heck the Launcher wanted to download the Whole Game since now the 3rd time :-D

Wondering if the 4.02 Hotfix is baked into the 4.02 installer and GOGDB hasn’t caught it. Just wondering if I should wait a bit.

Observed any big changes or improvements with todays new 4.02 Hotfix and why there is no 4.02HF patchlog? on my oldschool Haswell PC with nonRT GTX1660ti 528.49 i got few more fps 50 > 55 at FullHD all HIGH, but Toussaint texture flickering not patched yet.

According to the changelog from SteamDB it's just a fix for DLSS3 on GeForce 40 series cards:

DLSS 3 PC Hotfix

A hotfix for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out. It improves the stability of the game running on the GeForce RTX 40 Series Graphics Cards related to DLSS 3. The game version won’t change.
