Spoilers!
Having been burned before (joke), I dialed up AARD before descending the last stairs to where Geralt detects the bad brew. At that point I need to get out with Ciri by blasting the stack of barrels blocking the exit. At that point I can't use AARD again. I just cough and soak in the smoke with no effect. I can't bring up the circular selector with Tab and no icons appear to indicate that I can cast AARD.
I checked the key bindings and it says AARD is bound to "3" . Would that be F3 or just numeral 3? In the situation described above, neither key triggers AARD.
If I load a previous save and choose AARD, I can go directly to the blocked door and blast it successfully. Unfortunately, that doesn't meet the scenario to check the barrels, so I can't continue successfully.
Has anyone breezed through this situation? Is it a bug, or am I missing something in the sequence.
I'm really stalled, so any help would be most welcome.

Some clarification, if you please: do you have any issue with Aard (or any other sign) at any other points in the game, or just this scene?

LOL, Of course it is Cery's. I have no trouble with Aard or other signs at other points. It is as though when I descend the stairs into the cellar, all my signs are cut off as they are in a cut-scene. The odd part is that if I don't do the barrel checking that "completes" the requirement for the first part of the task, I can use Aard. Is there a tech forum you know of that might analyze this as a bug?

Yes, you need to contact CD Projekt Red support. Make sure you follow their guidelines for reporting bugs.

Your AARD is working BEFORE the incendiary device is tossed into the cellar, so first enter the cellar & blow the barrels that block the exit , then identify the contaminated mead barrel which triggers the cutscene where the cellar is set ablaze, then you & Cerys walk out of the cleared exit.
