I read in a forum that you can loot a journal pointing to an NPC who can give you an amulet to lift the curse, or you can just loot the werewolve's flesh feed it to him and kill him. I didn't get either. I've already unlocked both houses and only got the werewolve's journal. Now I'm stuck in a loop killing it after it respawns. Will try an earlier savepoint.

I did. I reverted to a previous save and went through the quest step by step as seen on a video walkthrough. As it turns out, the journal I mentioned is the same one that should lead me to this NPC but reading it did not trigger the other objective to lift the curse. Anyways I was able to loot the werewolve's guts this time around and fed it to him to finish the quest.

Glad you got it working. The way that quest functions is a little odd all around and needs some work, one of the worst i've encountered.

Navigating the garden itself is also very very annoying, the key you find on the dead priestess that could make it easier doesn't seem to open any of the locked doors in the garden but one.
