I lost my witcher 3 save file and had to use another save of the internet as id already progressed a fair bit into the main story. However this gentleman/lady had cheated their way to 7 million orens which i now wish to rid myself of as this impacts immersion. Is there a way , any way to RELEASE/LOSE orens? 7 mil of them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sadly, there's no way to edit the savefile far as I know.

To get rid of cash quick shouldn't be that hard, sell something really expensive to a vendor, then buy it back , rinse and repeat until you feel your cash is at a fair value. The exchange rate should be so bad that you constantly lose money.

Exchange rate is somewhere really bad. I had an armour with selling value about 200 and I accidentally sell it, and my dear merchant wanted to sell it for 1400.

If you are willing to mod your game the easiest way would be using the Debug console as it has a command that will remove money from your inventory.

it's easy to find just Google Witcher 3 Debug console

It's really quite simple. Re-enable the built-in console with this mod, and then use the following (where # is the amount to remove):

removemoney(#)

it worked ! thank you very much guys for the exhaustive replies.. one last question however, putting the debug mod in the game wont be considered cheating i hope? i.e it wont affect any achievements? ive removed the mod henceforth.

thanks again.

you said you had 7 million orens, but you typed 10 million, maybe it's because you want to get rid of more than you have and it's impossible to have negative amounts of money... it's just an idea, but might work...
or maybe, since the Nilfgaardian crown is the currency value in the game, orens are worth nothing anyway until you change them at a bank

it did work, apparently the command is removemoney(amount)
the brackets are mandatory
oh, ok... it was much simpler than it seemed :)
