I tried to send a message to support asking where on C drive Witcher 3 information is stored so I can plan to switch over to Windows 10.

Fill out their form and when you get to the end they INSIST you send in a dxdiag report.

ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY

they gotta have that file

even though I am asking about installing on a different computer where the dxdiag report IS TOTALLY USELESS.

So I jump through their hoops and follow their directions to the letter and try to attach the file that they DEMAND I submit and it declares " wrong format " and won't accept the file.

The goddam file was created and saved EXACTLY according to their directions.

Ya think maybe they don't want to hear from us?

Discovered that < I > was wrong < gasp imagine that >.

I added .jpg to the file name and it still said it was wrong then I discovered there are two places to attach a file.

The dxdiagnostic goes further down and I didn't see it.

The place where I tried to put it must be for screenshots or something although it didn't like .jpg files.

The place further down required me to scroll further and it takes the dxdiagnostic file just fine.

Somedays I'm just ate up with a severe case of dumbass --- but only on days with a y in them.

If all you are wanting to do is ensure you save all your gamesaves, so you can carry on where you left off after you get a new PC / Operating system - your saves are located under your profile \My Documents\The Witcher 3\gamesaves\

You can just copy them off to a thumb drive, cloud, your network - whatever. The after you re-install the new OS and your game - you can copy them back into the same location on the new system.

Peetz and zquarter are correct. But if you ever forget again (I always forget where my saved game files are) you can usually find them by searching the game name in the search field on the START button (assuming Windows 7. It is just Windows Explorer anyway) and hitting see more results. You will get every witcher file there with the path names including the saved games file and path as well as (for me anyway) over a hundred individual saved games/with path. Bottom line - it becomes very obvious where the saved games are.
