such as hairworks, hbao+, physx and such?

can these options toggled?

I'm wondering if I should cancel my pre-order and just wait a few months to see benchmarks on AMD cards when they get a chance to work on it, if nvidia allows them.

This has saddened me quite a bit as I am a huge advocate of GOG and CDPR, I feel now that such admiration was misplaced.

Any clarification would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

wait for the game to come out and then try it and if support can't get it working then they may refund you

They can be toggled, according to Marcin.

I'll put up a couple videos after the game is released so you can check how it looks on a R9 290X. Or you can simply check the benchmarks.

There you can have the first benchmarks with the high end GPUs.

So don't worry, you can totally disable hairworks and hbao+ :)
A couple of hardware performance reviews have already been released. And from what they show ( With the day 1 patch included ). The AMD cards show a pretty good performance overall,

The test is from a german site, but running it though Google translate makes it understandable enough.

In the above slider :
The Witcher 3 v1.02, ('semi-final' review build)
Details Max. detail excl. Hairworks (off) and AO (SSAO instead of HBAO+)
Software/Drivers Catalyst 15.4.1 Beta (HQ), Geforce 352.86 WHQL (HQ)

MSI GTX 970 Gaming is marked as 41 to 44.7 ( FPS ) & MSI R9 290X got 40 to 44.5 ( FPS )
So there really isn't that big a difference between the brands according to the hardware benchmarks out atm.
Thanks for the info guys.

Still sitting on an AMD 7000 series card, waiting for the R9 3XX cards to release, so I was just worried.

I love the world and the lore of the Witcher games so I just want it to work acceptably, the gameworks stuff are of no interest to me, never used TressFX in tomb raider.

I have a 7950 lying around here with me as well, can fire it up tomorrow to see how it works out.

Yeah same here, but checking up on the performance benchmarks coming out. I'd say the game has been properly optimised across both brands, with very little difference between them on the same settings. Guess it also helps that AMD is releasing a W3 driver doing the week: twitter.com/amd_roy/status/599565321167474689
Eventually CDPR kept their promises towards PC Gamers, unlike so many people said :)

The game is pretty well otpimised and beautiful on PC... And the adventure will be freakin' epic! :D

i agree u can see this game was optimized for pc bc 2GB gfx card can run ultra if they want.

lately developers dont bother optimizing textures they are lazy so you need 4, 6+ GB VRAM to run ultra.
