Except for the fact that the free version is restricted to 10 minutes of recording, and has a watermark.

OBS looks interesting because it's free but is there an easy way to use this for just screenshots?

If you just want screenshot, I find it simplest to just use Steam, added as a non-Steam game.

With the nvidia card I got, it came with Afterburner, an overclock utility that also has screenshot and video capability. Can be downloaded off their site, I believe.
