Going to start buying my games on GOG I think, does anyone know if I already own the game on Steam, will the expansion pass work if I buy it on GOG?

As far as I know, they will not be compatible. I've only heard that through the grapevine, though.

They don't. Pretty sure both expansion pages (Steam and GOG) state you need the base game on their respective services.
