jesstray: That did not work for me until after I removed and reinstalled GOG. I wonder if it is an issue with Windows 10 to 11 upgrades.

MGsubbie: I had to unclick "automatically update to the newest version", there I could select version 4.00.
worked for me, thank you very much!

That did the trick! You need to unclick that and new options appears. Thank you!

Wow, I guess the GOG client still has a long way to go if 'automatically update' keeps you on the oldest possible version of the game (1.32) lol.

Thanks, this worked for me as well!
Still nothing for me. Repaired install and it came up with a 49gb download. Downloaded it and it failed
Gog Galaxy reinstall did not work. Am I gonna have to get a pirate version of a free update for a game I’ve fully paid for with a season pass?
Edit: unchecking automatic update worked for me too

Smolak77: I had no update too. To trigger it go to game settings in GOG - manage installation - configure - and here you will have option to update to 4.0 version :)
awesome. Thank you for posting this!! made my day easier!! was stressing trying to figure out how to get it to download lol

Well, in retrospect it is correct because in comparison to steam you have the option to stay on the oldest possible CLASSIC version. What was not ideal was some unlogical hidden option - that should have been solved differently.

Just to amuse you - situation was even worse on Playstation store - I own PS4 GOTY on PS store. Only different version after searching in the store marked for PS5 was marked with some price. After you went for that option you needed to click on three dots "..." and THERE you can actually get to separate complete edition page for PS5 and claim it for free. But normally via search I was not able to find it. There were even some people that bought this edition due to this confusion and HARD to find update... LOL. So GOG was not the worst :D
