Hi, I've played most of my game from Steam as a non steam game but I've just realised that I haven't been unlocking any achievements. I then realised it was probably because I wasn't running the game from the GOG galaxy client. I've read that if you open up the game through the GOG client after playing it from steam it will update any achievements you've completed but this hasn't happened for me. Is there anything required for this to work? Is there a way to unlock GOG achievements while running the game as a non steam game?

I've started playing from the GOG client again but I don't think the achievements are working at all. I completed what I though was an achievement but it didn't unlock. Is there any known problems with GOG and achievements?

I've been doing the same so I can use big picture through the Link. I won't open Galaxy for a week then when I do, the achievements ARE there. Maybe because I installed Witcher 3 via the Galaxy client? Dunno, but I am glad it's working.

So that must mean the achievements are tracked and saved in the save files?

I didn't install the game via the GOG client, I downloaded the files from the GOG website under a friends account. The game is definitely in my GOG client library where you view the achievements etc but they aren't updating. There's quite a few there I'm positive I've completed. Strangely there about three achievements that are unlocked though but I do recall launching the game from within the GOG client once so maybe they unlocked on that occasion.

So as far as you know your unlocking achievements while you play from steam? There must be some reason why GOG's not updating mine. Hmm.

Yeah, I'm certain. Most recently "Kingmaker" shows up in Galaxy though when I completed that quest I was running through Steam w/o Galaxy even open. I have used Galaxy to install and update the game since the beginning though, just not to play it.

Hmm, it's just not happening for me. Most of the locked achievements I know I haven't actually unlocked but there a couple like "return to sender" I'm certain I've done.

Maybe it's something to do with the way I installed the game or how I'm running it. There's other people around claiming the achievements are unlocking for them as well so I don't know.

I'm thinking it might have something to do with that I don't actually own the game in my GOG account. I downloaded the game with a friends login. To be honest, when I log into GOG with his account I'm not sure if it's mine or his achievements that are showing. Hmm, probably should of brought it myself...

fact is that GoG Galaxy now all Archievements can be unlocked.
Now works without error.

So the problem really is not with GoG Galaaxy
