To whom it may concern,

I am very disappointed and shocked that after all these years of being a loyal cdpr gamer and GOG customer that after receiving my copy of Witcher 3 I can no longer be because of one small over sight on your developing team. You guys were so eager to get this game marketed for the console that you failed to realize that not everyone can use a controller with their pc. I am a quadriplegic that has no finger or hand movement but can still get by playing some limited game titles as long as I can remap EVERY key. I was thoroughly enjoying your Witcher series due to this fact until you guys went and dashed my hopes and excitement by not only limiting keyboard controls but LOCKING out movement key also!to make matters worse you guys say your only fix is to download and install autohotkey which is not usable on my pc due to the fact it conflicts with some of my some of my other programs that make my pc handicap accessible. My suggestion to fix this issue is quite simple..make EVERY key remappable if this cannot be done then I must demand a refund as I am unable to play the game

You might want to send them your message directly, plus this is GoG form not CDPR, GoG themselves didn't develop the game they only publish it.

I don't know why they locked some options, they might patch it soon though and if u'll write to them directly maybe they'll make the extra effort for sooner patch :)
I do think they probably patch the game soon to add full key remapped.

Said so, I think they didn't advertised the game to include fully rebindable keys, so not sure if you can be so harsh on CDP on this. Luckily GOG politics on refunds are wider than this, so probably you won't have problems getting a refund yourself, although they technically did not anything "wrong". Also you say you have conflicting software for your condition that makes using autohotkey impossible for you, that is very unfortunate, and weird. Wonder what software is that and why that software don't includes some option similar to autohotkey (being for disabled persons), that seems very sad for that sofware developer.

I truly hope you get a solution.

Currently it is impossible to register or log into the CDPR forums.

I can't even see text. Just black screen in the body of every message.

They didn't advertise NOT having fully rebindable keys either.

HAHAHA, they also didn't advertised *put your preferred feature here* was included with the game, so they should include it??. Let's say, in your way of thinking, they should include with the game every feature they didn't said it would include????

Like...

They didn't advertised the game includes VR headset compatibility, so should they deliver??

They didn't advertised the game includes a free beer/coke/whatever, so should they sent it to you??

and so on...

I don't think the world goes that way....

Impressive how strong your convictions are with regard to such poor reasoning.

Put yourself in OP's situation and rethink this post.

Very sorry to hear this situation. As many of us have said in similar threads, being able to rebind ANY key is an accessibility requirement and really must be there.

I hope they fix this for all those that need it. Me being left handed I tend to rebind almost all default keys in everything, many of us need it.

Lets hope CDPR come to the party and patch this for us all.
Half arsed solution until they fix it, if you list the keys you want to use I can put the script together for you tomorrow.

The post (of mine) you quoted is not related to OP's first post, but exclusive to YOUR post and YOUR "reasoning". Yes, probably I should have quoted your post to be more clear, but my post makes clear reference to your arguments ONLY.

Please don't try to use demagogic arguments, it won't work.

The OPs situation is that he is a very small minority to whom most companies are not specifically trying to cater. It's a fact of life that things are going to be made and optimized for the majority. I certainly hope the OP finds resolution to this issue, but berating CDPR for it is not really meaningful or completely appropriate. Again, I certainly hope he will get resolution but he must also realize the world doesn't revolve around him. Good luck.

If you had paid attention, OP isn't asking for special treatment.
OP asks for something that has been standard with games since begin of the century: the ability to set your own key bindings.
That would enable OP to adapt for his needs, and it would help a lot of other people without disabilities as well.

OP never said (s)he wanted the world to revolve around him/her.

We're talking about key rebinding. In 2015. Most of the keys can be rebound, but only by editing a pretty complicated text file. The game itself says they are "Locked", but the high majority aren't. So instead of CDPR just having the keys that can be rebound in the Options, for people to rebind them, people have to edit text files? Or download third party software to remap the keys.

Of all the hype and boasting about the game and they couldn't/wouldn't even allow key rebinding? And on top of all that, the movement keys are aren't even listed in the game and can't be remapped there. The movement keys. You must use WASD or the arrow keys. I have no idea how people defend such things.
The big question now is...

Will CDPR make the same mistake as Bioware, and not even bother to discuss the reasons behind the lack of emphasis on kb&m controls, putting out extremely minor fixes and patches that don't really scratch the surface of the issue, months after the games release....
If i were you i would ask for moneyback.

Not always that easy, especially if you pre-ordered.
