ANyone else havin an issue with the game not saving properly? Game will tell me it saved, but when I reload with last manual saved game, it load an old save. I go back and look at the save list, my last save is not there at all. Do I need to delete saves in order to save my new saves? This is on a PC. Thanks!

I have not heard of anyone having this issue, but it is possible that you may not be waiting long enough after clicking "Save" for the file to complete saving. You could test that and see.

I have another kind of issue, where the save option says me that save files are not compatible. Nothing serious for now.

Newer version saves are not compatible with older versions of the game - for example - a save from a game on patch 1.05 will not work if you reinstall the game and only patch it to 1.02

Same. I dont know why. My last save working 5 hours ago. After shutdowning my pc and stating later, gamesaves not work.

to check if the game is saving properly have you had a look at the gamesaves file in documents

Documents\The Witcher 3\gamesaves

make a save while playing & then check the gamesaves file as you can use the Date modified as a time stamp, if the time you saved doesn't match up with the Date modified on the save file you know you have a problem.

I can't save ANYMORE since yesterday ?!
I didn't notice it and played 2 hours, then I saved manually before a dangerous climbing Action but the Save-Icon didnt appear.
I doublechked it and nothing happened ! So there is no Point for me in playing anymore, because automatic, Manual and quicksave don't function anymore.
Please help, I want to Play !

Is the game still Auto saving? check your save files for either an "Autosave" or a "Checkpoint"

Have you tried hitting F5 while playing & seeing if you can Quicksave?

If you are near any Enemies or are in combat you cannot save so make sure you are in a safe place & the combat music isn't playing & then try saving your game.

Have you tried reinstalling the game?
before you reinstall the game make a backup of your gamesaves file & take note of what version of the game you are playing & what DLC you have installed, then patch the reinstalled game to the correct patch & DLC content.

It is also a good idea to contact the GoG support team & explain your problem to them

I have done all of your suggestions. Nothing happens. There is noch "letter Icon" when hitting F5 and
there is no new savegame regardless what I do. Even after successing a new Quest there is no new Checkpoint.
And yes, I contacted the GOG-Support but don't hope to get answer in a few days. Maybe 1-2 Weeks....
Ist very strange.
I let GOG Galaxy check the game and everything is fine and the Game itself is rockstable now, no Crash in the last 6 days !

just read your post in the other thread & it seems the cause of the problem is similar to what caused this bug on the Xbox One version when the game was first released!...anyway good to know you got it sorted

Try to check saves date. Game not saving if time of current save younger that last working save. Check computer time/date.
