Hello,

Something strange is happening.
While playing the Witcher 3 on PC my eyes start to hurt.
After a 2-hour session I looked in the mirror and my eyes were completely bloodshot.

The interesting thing is that I got the chance to play long sessions on the PS4 version of the game on the same setup (a big 1080p TV to which my PC is also plugged) and I did not experience this problem.

Is it possible that some graphic options enabled on the PC version are causing this?
If so, could you advise which settings I should turn off to solve this problem?

Thanks for replying only if you know what you are talking about.

I think you should go see a doctor, first... however, since you're posting here first (for what reason I don't know) try lowering the mouse sensitivity or the brightness. You could also try to avoid putting too much effort on your eyes trying to catch some details or put a little farther from your TV.
But, as I said, go to a doctor.
I have red eyes if I am looking long to very bright monitor. You can try to turn off bloom, light shafts etc which make really bright colors.

Probably not the culprit here, but try turning off Chromatic Aberration. I really cant stand the look, so i turned that off.

Thanks for you reply but obviously you are just guessing.
I don't think I need to see a doctor since my eyesight is otherwise fine AND I did not experience the same problem on the PS4 version while playing exactly at the same distance and in the same conditions.

I think that some post processing options enabled on PC are causing this and I'd like an informed advice on this issue.

Also, if above colour settings won't hel, generally in such cases you should:
toggle vsync (should be on IMHO), fix/limit the framerate, and turn off bobbing if possible.

The only bad thing I'm experiencing is a headache with the witcher senses effect. I mailed CDRP to ask if they can add an option to remove that "effect"
Get some eyedrops?
You might just be straining from being too close to a monitor. Playing on a PS4 sets you farther away from the screen.

If you really believe that a graphical setting is causing you to have blood shot eyes, why don't you bottom out all of the graphical settings and see if it makes a difference? It would more quickly confirm/dispel your belief.
Bloodshot eyes are often a result of eye strain, which is a side effect of sitting and playing PC games for too long... I'm long since used to it. ;)

Seriously, though, if you play for hours at a time without taking breaks, or play in a dark room where the only light is coming from your screen, that's a sure-fire way to strain your eyes. You'll have to take steps to mitigate that if you're very opposed to having bloodshot eyes. It is not the fault of this game in particular.
