Hi, i have reinstalled my pc without removing or moving the game in another directory.
The saves are still in "Mes documents\The Witcher 3\gamesaves" in the right place, but the game doesn't see my previous saves and only propose to start a new game.
It's a little anoying because i've finished the story line and i was trying to finish the game 100% when i was forced to reinstall.
Is there any way to tell the game wich path to check for game saves ?
Thanks for your help :)

You said, "without removing or moving the game in another directory". What does that mean? Did you fully reinstall the game, or not?

No, it's installed on a another partition than the system one, so i did nothing more than reinstalling the system, but not the game (actually it's the same for all the games i installed, and they work like a charm except W3)
Do you think reinstalling the game might solve the problem ?
Could it be the upgrade to 1.21 that kind of "broke" the link to the game saves ?

Yes, you must reinstall the game if you have reinstalled Windows. The game looks in the Windows registry to find where to look for information like saved games, and reinstalling the game will put that right.

I've reinstalled the game and sadly it's exactly the same : no game saves :(
Do i have to check registry values ?
Where can it be (if you know it) ?

I have to admit I don't know why this would be. Here's something you could try, though: move all of your old saves to a separate folder, start a new game until it lets you save (it doesn't matter that it's at the beginning). Once you've saved, check that the game recognises it, then quit the game. Now go to your gamesaves folder and select the save you just made in Windows Explorer, then choose to 'rename' it. DON'T rename it, just right click/copy the long name. Now delete the new save and drag -- don't copy/paste or you'll lose the name -- your old, completed game save into the folder. Rename it and paste in the name you copied. Note that you must copy and rename both the '.sav' file and the '.png' file. I am unsure if this is the problem or if it will work; it's a long shot but worth a try.
Just a short question: Have you chosen a different name for you new user profile?

Just start a new game, and look where a new (manual) save file will be stored. If it differs from the original save folder, you will have the answer.
OK I've found where the problem came from !!!!
I don't use the default Windows My docs directory, to aviod loosing everything in it in case of definitive system crash, so I got another one on a non system HDD (D:\ in my case), and the game W3 (and other games too, i've seen it in the same time !) use the default one ... voila voila :|
Last question and I leave you in peace ^^ :
Do you know if there's a way to specify another gamesaves directory to the game ?
And again, thanks a lot for the time you spent on my problem ;)

No, but you can make a symbolic link to your new location. Close the game and do the following:

Delete 'The Witcher 3' folder from your C: drive documents.
Open a command prompt and type (two separate lines)...

cd "C:\Users\<INSERT USERNAME>\Documents"
mklink /D "The Witcher 3" "D:\<INSERT PATH TO YOUR ALTERNATIVE DOCUMENTS>\The Witcher 3"
