This might be an issue with my GPU, but only TW3 is causing this. Card is a Nvidia GTX 560 Ti

First I thought it was overheating my card, so I opened my case and cleaned everything, then temperatures were nominal. But then after playing for 10 or so minutes, the framerate would slow down, freeze, and the screen would go black, accompanied by a buzzing sound.

So then I made sure my drivers were up to date , but same problem, except sometimes instead of having to reboot my computer, it just kicks me to the desktop, and the game is frozen.

Any idea what the issue is?

I'm crashing a lot as well. Crashing was very seldom before the patch and after the patch I seem to keep crashing every 20 minutes. It goes to desktop and there are still sounds and such and then the game finally closes down. I do notice the the fans on my card (gtx 960) get really loud before crashing.

Yes, this started happenig after the new patch. On day one I could play for an hour or so before it crashed, but I think that was from overheating.

Does anyone still have 1.02? Does it crash often?

Still using 1.02 and no problems,seen too many people saying 1.03 making more problems.
Will wait for further patches.Sometimes a patch can stuff a game.

Yeah, that sounds like the case here. Is there a way to downgrade to 1.02 without completely reinstalling?

That would only work if the 1.02 patch has overwritten the same files as 1.03 does, which is highly unlikely.

So my options would be to reinstall, or to wait for the next patch and it addresses the issue?

Black screen for which i am unable to alt-tab out of which i have turn my off by the wall. Happened 3-4 times now so i'm waiting for the next patch.

I am no tech genius. But are you sure a GTX 560 ti is sufficient? Last time i checked,minimum requirement is a GTX 660 to run the game.

I have the same issue now, this is frustrating. I had no issue with the new patch until now, I can't even play for 5 minutes, doesn't matter what I do, just riding or fighting, it goes to the desktop, like the other guy said, you can still hear sounds then finally it crashes with no message whatsoever...
I have a GTX970 btw

When it does it run, it runs on medium settings with a decent framerate most of the time.

Did you patch your game to 1.03? I haven't because there are some people saying after installing this update the game suddenly became unstable.

I have the same gpu GTX 560 Ti. I guess I'm one of them very lucky ones who can play this game very well.

It's a mix of Low-High settings though and my post-processing is toned down to use only vsynch, vignette, light shafts, and bloom on native resolution (1366*768).

When it starts to slow down I only need to restart the game fresh.

shame on ....
yea, patch 1.03 is more a troublemaker than an improvement...
It minimizes and doesnt come up again with the game running in the background.... very frustrating
I am stuck at the moor (Wise village with the grandma´)... so the game is at the end for me at the moment.
