Using an i9 13900k, 32gb DDR5 @6600mhz and a 4090 GPU on drivers 527.56. I am on the latest windows 10 updates too. I keep getting crashes to desktop when I enable frame generation in the graphic options, with a pop up to send a report. The crashes are random and sometimes happen after a few minutes, sometimes after 10 minutes, no specific time frame really.

I am using DLSS Auto with RT ultra settings at 3840x2160 resolution. When I turn off frame generation the game does not crash anymore.

I know frame generation works fine in games like Plague Tale Requim so I am thinking it is not specific to my system. Anyone else have this issue?

I am using a Ryzen 5 5600X, 32 GB DDR4, 4080 on drivers 527.56 at the latest Windows 10. I have the exact same Problems: crashes within 1 - 15 min when using DLSS 3 (quality mode) with frame generation. When I disable the frame generation, no crashes anymore.
Before I played Portal RTX with Frame Generation and had no crashes at all.

By the way: the hotfix does not help.

Do you have any mods installed? Or are you using reshade? I saw a few people in the cd project red forums had this issue but they had mods or had reshade mod files in their Witcher 3 /bin folder.

I am not using any mods and I do not use reshade. This is a fresh install.

I had the same issue. I disabled the gog overlay. No crash anymore so far.

I realized there are two options to get it to stop crashing.

1. Use FSR 2.0 instead of DLSS and frame generation enabled.

2. Disable GOG overlay. For some reason the gog overlay does not interfere with FSR but causes crashes when you use dlss in this game.

I also do not use mods or reshade. I had installed Witcher before, but only played it briefly and did not modify it in any way.

I'll have to try turning off the GOG overlay. Thanks for the tip.

With patch 4.0.2 I get crashes with DLSS+Frame Gen with the GoG Overlay disabled.
I tried updating the DLSS Dll, didn't help.

4.0.1 worked fine... RTX 4090. Anyone else?

Same here, worked just fine when I played it a few weeks ago. Either the newest driver or the update causing the game to crash if FG is enabled now. Can play for maybe 2-3 minutes before it crashes on a 4090+5800X3D system.

It sounds like this is a fairly common error after 4.02.

I'm currently finishing my download and will report back if I run into any issues (5800X3D, 4070TI)

Confirmed: Witcher 3 4.02 crashes when enabling DLSS 3 after anywhere between 1 minute and 15 minutes. Looks like we're waiting for a hotfix or driver update.

This did not help me. W3 4.0.2 crashes within 1 minute with DLSS + Frame Gen enabled.

Frame Gen works for me now with the latest hotfix for 4.0.2 :)

Shame I can't see an offline installer yet...
