Hi guys. After installing the GOTY edition of the game, I came upon the bugs mentioned above. By floor sinking, I mean Geralt or NPCs sinking up to their waste, in the ground, at random locations. Also I have noticed that, for example, where there should be rendered ground, there is a "whole" from which I can actually see, let's say the bottom of the cliff from where I am standing, but can't fall through it. I have already contacted CDProject in the past, but they have done nothing else than reply to me about redownloading and installing the game, something I have already done a lot of times. Do you have any idea what is going on? I could post some screenshots if you need them. Thanks.

Your installation is corrupt. No 'ifs', 'buts' or 'maybes'. It is corrupt. Re-download and reinstall.

I have done this 6 times already. I have no problem though with Witcher 1 or 2. So there is no point trying that again. As you said, there are no "ifs", "maybes" or "buts", on this aspect of troubleshooting.

Your installation is corrupt. That is the only reason for missing objects and textures. I don't know what you've done, or how you've don it, but you can be assured that your installation is corrupt. Like it or not.

Let me show you.
It seems I can't upload screenshots....

The installation could be corrupt even if the file integrity check finds no problems?

It's funny though that the vanilla installation, with the DLCs as seperate installations, doesn't have the same problem....

Yes. It could be many things: interrupted installation; faulty disk; security software interfering with installation... many things. It *is* corrupt.

Still, it's funny it happens only with this game. And I have half a dozen installed on my HDD. Still, I am not convinced that the weight of guilt is mostly on my PC. Haven't you experienced similar issues?

Yes, with more than one game, and it was always a corrupt installation.

Great. I am going to install the vanilla version and come back to you.
I own the vanilla game and the DLCs. This is what I have done so far.
1.Downloaded and installed only the base game. The issue persists.
2.Downloaded and installed the GOTY edition. The issue persists. Install base game plus DLCs. The issue persists. 3.Formated and reinstalled windows with all the updates. The issue persists.
It is either an installer issue or something really very specific about the latest version of the game and my setup. I have had this issue since the 1.31 update and I can safely say that, from my part I can't do anything else, besides report the issue and expect a fix from CDProject support.
So that's why I posted here. But it seems no-one really knows what happens or has encountered this issue before.

By the way, I use only Windows Defender as security software and the installations are uninterrupted. Might be an issue with the HDD and version 1.31 of the game though.

have you tried to verify/repair the installation?

thekersy100: have you tried to verify/repair the installation?
Yes, I have. Unfortunately nothing changes and the verify function doesn't find any issues.

Finally an answer from the PC Support has come in and it is the solution to this issue. I will quote the solution as it was sent to me via e-mail.

"Please go to your CCC (Catalyst Control Center) and reset your Tessellation to 'Use application settings'.
'Override' with 2x tessellation causes this issue. You can set it to 4x and above, but not 2x."

All qudos go to Ivan of the PC Support department.

And below is what solved my problem perfectly based on Ivan's solution.

" I would like to note that, initially my tessellation setting was set manually to "Off". The fix worked after manually setting the "Maximum Tessellation" to "x4",as you suggested, and starting the game. After that I restarted the game using the "Use application settings", and it worked like when it was set to "x4". Unfortunately that didn't fully solve the problem, as some "unnatural" texture edges were still displayed.
What fully fixed the issue was manually setting "Maximum Tessellation" to "x64" (the maximum level of tessellation) and starting the game. After that I restarted the game using "Optimized by AMD" and it worked perfectly, like when I had set "Maximum Tessellation" to "x64". I have no idea why it works like that, but it certainly did eliminate the issue."

Case closed.
Might want to sticky this, by the way.

I've been working on this issue for 3 days now, downloaded the game multiple times, even the offline version and still having the issue.

Thanks for this post as the tesellation config change solved the problem. Now I can go back and continue enjoying this masterpiece!!!
