Finish the game with 0 deaths.
Hi to all Witcher fans!

I have this thing of mine, I love to finish the games I play with 0 deaths.
From beginning till the end, not a single death. And no save/load cheating.
I got quite a collection so far in my 20 year gaming carrier,
and I would like to add withcer 3 to that list of mine because I manage to do it with witcher 1 and 2.
But I need some help/information that I can not find right now.
If anyone here can help me out I would appreciate it a lot.
I plan to finish the game once, just to get better at new combat system/mechanics and to know all surprises or cheap shots that the game might throw at me.So far I am half way thry and I died around 8-9 times, I play on normal difficulty.

1. Attack and Armour bonuses, from blacksmith, how much do they give in %
is it 5% 10% 15% ?

2. Sign bonuses, from power places, how much do they give in %
is it 5% 10% 15% ?

3. Where and how to obtain best oils that give 20% bonus?

4. Since I am playing no to die, not even once, what build / skills would you suggest?

5. Where are the best items that are easy to collect (not guarded by very high lvl enemy's)
This is important to me because for example I play with sword that got 50 dmg and armour that got 50 armour, that gear is like lvl 10.
But than later I find ungraded places with sword dmg 60 and armour with 60 points that are lvl 7.
Not so much of use now, but if I pick up proper gear Immediately when I was lvl 7, and not later, that would make things much easer.

6. I use dodge, roll, block and counter in combat but for some reason I prefer only queen and aard signs in combat
any fighting strategies that work great with you / are your styles, please share it.

7. Any ways of faster levelling?

I think it will be a lot harder than in previous games. Especially as you can now die from falling damage, from not that high up :D

That depends on if he wants to do 100% run and the difficulty he will use for it.

''From beginning till the end, not a single death. And no save/load cheating.''

All I can say is you must start a lot of new games.Luckily it doesn't
auto load on last save. You must have a few records in just starting
a new game.
good luck with that... I'm playing in the march of death and I died many times, I died more than dark souls 1 and 2 I thing, but because I'm a little kamikaze... :P

8. Lvl differences, now I know that enemies with higher lvl than me, will inflict more damage, and that they will receive less damage, but what is the exact amount? If it is 4lvl vs 5 lvl= 5% , that is ok. But if it goes 10 , 15 or 20% per level than I wont engage in any combat when lvl differences is more than 2 or 3 lvls.

I play on normal difficulty.

And yes I save the game so I can continue tomorrow, but i don't use save load in order to cheat death.

If you take care, you don't fall or jump when you are not sure of the outcome.

I plan to finish the game once, than go into no death mode.

i am sure the developers promised a permadeath-game mod, where is it? :D
I created a map of white orchid and started creating a map for No mans land.
Next to every ? / location, I add a number (lvl required)
and add another letter if that place contains important armor or sword or gear.

What I also manage to do is get all places of power in no mans land without any fight at all.
If there are enemies near it, just drag them away in one direction while you are on horse,
and go around, you can use stone of power with no combat at all.

So now I got a lot of skill points early in the game.
I don't see how anyonce could find this fun at all, but good luck to you mate!
@Beligerent

Anyone can finish any game, no mater how hard the game is or how poor the skills of a player are.
Just die a lot of times, than do it again and again and again, but eventually the game will bi completed.
I find it very rewarding and satisfying to complete games with 0 deaths.
Not on my firs playthry off course, because you must learn the mechanics of the game and cheap shots
that the game might throw at you.

Funny u mention that, just in another thread i put my mind about Yrden and how strong it is upgraded, that u can kill anything with it with 0 damage done to u !
The 2nd Yrden upgrade is a trap that damage enemies around it, add some normal Yrdens around it so enemy will walk slower and/or give u time to dodge, and u can even upgrade crossbow and just spam it while they get zapped by Yrden
Ironman challenges aren't that uncommon.
@All

Two more things.

8. Lvl differences, now I know that enemies with higher lvl than me, will inflict more damage, and that they will receive less damage, but what is the exact amount? 9. When armor or swords are damaged lets say 50%,
how much does it really impact damage,
when does it start to impact damage at all and how much in % ?

@YrdenNerf

Tnx a lot man , this looks like a nice strategy, will try it out.
And I mostly use only yarden and queen so this is good news :)

@paladin181
Yap, true.

I will just do a quick list of what I can remember right now.
Most of them are on very hard, some on hard, some on normal, none are on easy.

Resident Evil 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5
Resident Evil code Veronica
Resident Evil HD remastered

Tomb raider 2014

Bioshock 1 / 2 / 3

Dead Space 1 / 2 / 3

Witcher 1 / 2

Darksiders 1 / 2

GTA5 (sp/story mode)

Max Payne 2

Shadow Of mordor

Assassins creed 1 / Unity

Borderlands 2 / The Pre-Sequel!

last game I did was - Dying Light (check out the attachments)

And bunch older games, I cant remember right now.

@gunsynd & Beligerent

The first game ever I finish in ironman / no death mode was Resident Evil 1 on ps1.
I did not got a memory card, so no saving was possible at all.
Because the game is a horror / survival, no dying was the best possible thing for a player.
You really feel frightened, not to die is the only way to finish the game, and experience, tension and fear,
the excitement when reaching never explored and new areas and new enemies was amazing experience.
But all that experience and excitement would be downgraded if I got a memory card, because then
dead = 30 second ago load game.
Kills the mood and tension. You can die, no penalty at all, horror = do what ever, no need to be careful.

And yes, I do start a new games often, but since AAA titles and good quality games don't come very often now, I would rather play a high quality game with 0 deaths, than any random games.

Long time no see people,
did it on hardest difficulty with 0 deaths, main game only, no expansions included,
(all main quests, all side quests, contracts , and treasure hunts)

Did it again with 2 deaths from rats with scaling ON on hardest difficulty
(bug with insane damage from rats when scaling is on, Main mission in sewers with Triss
and fyke isle ghost fight, google it)
main game only also, no expansions included
(all main quests, all side quests, contracts , and treasure hunts)

Now I wanna do the ultimate run with 0 deaths:

death march difficulty
from main game and both expansions

all main quests
all side quests
all contracts
all treasure hunts
complete all locations on all maps

Wish me luck :)

It would be nice if there were some sort of statistics for the game.
