Hello people,

I wanted to report a problem/bug at the Eredin boss fight.

At the beginning of the fight I hit him about 4-5 times and then he takes no damage. I can see on the left of my screen "Geralt hit 0 damage" or something like that... Eredin's life is blocked at the middle of the first stage.

I try to verify/repair, start an other save but it persist...

Does anyone encountered the same problem?

Remove any and all mods, then once yoiu have done that, verify/repair your game again. This issue is caused by incorrectly installed games and/or mods.

Thanks for your answer but i didn't install any mods, just the free DLC...

The bug you reported is actually a pretty old one, happened to me too once, on my second run

That particular boss will "gate" away and drag you with him when he reach certain health thresholds, unfortunately if you hurt him too fast, the script may fail to trigger. You'll need to reload a save just before Ciri sequence and when Geralt face him, go easy on him, don't hurt him too fast, stun him with the charm and slash with the blade only once or twice before jumping away

Of course you can use a different tactic if you want, but heed to the same advice, if you hurt him too fast the final battle become bugged

Sorry but there is no other solution i found, i know is somehow ridiculous to have to go easy on the final boss, but so it is

As a consolation, after he "gate" you away the first time, you should be able to hammer him hard and the script seems to work properly usually, so there is at least that

As for mods, i use quite a lot of them, both made by myself and from nexus, one of those force Geralt to have all available abilities active at the same time plus made my own sword and armor for my 4th run, no problem at all

I had this bug too but after a while he teleported with me to another location where he took damage normally.

You are nothing more then a troll, and your offenses prove it, i didn't offend you nor called you names, but apparently the little child in you is far too strong for you to resist

If you can't behave like an adult, don't try to converse with one

To remain in topic, the bug still happen even in 1.31, despite what you say, the engine to not tax the CPU too much, execute the fight script every N seconds, unfortunately the threshold check is exactly the same as the health necessary to trigger the sequence, and sometimes it doesn't register it's target have already reached the specified value if the damage is greater then the allowed value for the next sequence

Increasing the value of the threshold would fix it, probably

Without mods or a fix, the only thing you can do is damage him slowly at the beginning.

Eriden taking no damage compensated for Caranthir inflicting no damage.
After Ciri fought Caranthir it was Geralt's turn. Caranthir simply stood still like a statue
without once raising his sword. Dead in seconds.
First play through I had no such problems. Now playing NG+ these problems occur.

I also had this problem, (playing the game for the first time in 2022), during the final BOSS fight against Eredin I could NOT drop his health, In my case, this was because I was using a trainer, so my solution was simple. The final Boss fight with Eredin onboard the Naglfar has to be played straight, no trainers, cheats, or console commands. I read the Wiki and beat Eredin using Quen, Swirl & Rend attacks. Job done!

I see. So it was no bug, but just another pebcak-case.

You must have been very proud of yourself for winning a fight without cheating for the first time.
