KiNgBrAdLeY7: Because this is a game, and a freaking RPG game, too??
Merchants in proper RPGs have unlimited funds (usually, normally...)!
No, you are wrong. Since this is an RPG it has a certain setting. This setting is a freaking war where supplies are low and all money is redirected to armed forces. I could tell you more but I do not want to spoil the story for anyone reading this thread. That is exactly why you have limits.
Just imagine this:
Gothic 2 with 'Night of the Raven' expansion. In the base game, Khorinis is struggling with the Orcs. Kingdom is at war. Supplies are low, Paladins are taking most of the stock away. You get a setting. You know it will be hard. Merchants have low amount of gold and almost no goods. After installing the the expansion, each NPC whines about how difficult the times are but when you look at their stock, they have all the freaking blades and armors available. Tons of gold too. Isn't that immersion breaking? For me it is. Seems to me there is no war, no issues with the orcs, no nothing!
And seriously guys, CDPR is not a brothel. They will not be able to satisfy all the tastes and approaches to gaming. I can understand that it might be a problem for some people. That is a matter of taste. For me it is immersion breaking. I hope they will leave it as is and allow modders to provide fixes for those gamers who feel uncomfortable with it. Everyone is happy. Just stay away with immerion breakign things from my base game.
