I heard that CDPR will fix this sometime, but i have a couple of questions.
Will it be fixed for those only who didn't started it yet or for those who started the quest and cannot finish it also?
Can i move on in the game and come back to this quest later when it got fixed?

Usually patch fixing quests will only work on a new game start.

That's not good then. I still hope they fix it for everyone or at least there will be some cheat or something which will make this quest complete.

Had this happen to me. Irritated me so much that I started over. Had done all of the side quests in the area, and it was my last one... But its okay. Gave me a chance to fine tune my combat. lol

Starting over is not a solution for me. I hope sometime there will be a solution, maybe modders will do something about it. I'm just afraid that same could happen later with other and more interesting quests.

What glitch do you speak of? I made it past that quest so not sure if I encountered a glitch or not, but I'm in Velen now.

You can't complete this quest if you looted the chest before you read the letter. so basically i'm being punished for exploring.

Ah, so game glitch... I wonder if it has a drop down console like Skyrim does which you can throw in some obscure commands to reset quests etc.

The name of the letter is scrawled notes, however adding the letter to your inventory will not matter if you looted the chest prior to reading it.

The reason I say that is because I havent been able to complete this quest since the day the game launched. I have the letter in my inventory and no matter how many times you read it the quest will not progress.

So adding the letter to your inventory will not fix the issue...

So if you use debug console to add that quest letter to your inventory , it won't go to quest items ?

Or does it go only to "Usable items" ??
