Hello,
I bought the digital edition of "The Witcher 3 GOTY" and can't make it start, at all.
The install is full and activated but when launching the game (GOG or game shortcut), the process runs for 5 seconds then dies and windows shows the following report (french OS) :

Code de l’exception: c0000005
An access violation (c0000005) exception with the fault module being user32.dll suggests a UI problem. Do you have any mods installed? If not, do you have the Galaxy overlay installed and active? If so, deactivate/remove it.

No mods installed, i already tested with overlay off in Galaxy's parameter's and i still have the same error.
I searched the forums and the web for a week and tried all different solutions : remove the galaxy.dll, the overlay, entries in the registry, user's rights, firewall and antivirus, different installation directories, repairing, visual C++ packages, DirectX 11, ...

Even so, it still points to a UI issue. My advice would be to completely uninstall Galaxy and download/install the game manually, after uninstalling your current installation. A hassle, I know, but if you can't play the game anyway...

I'll test that, thanks. I'll post back results.

NB : i uninstalled GOG and tried to launch the game and a BEX64 error shown, maybe normal with Galaxy missing
Still the same error, no change, i'm desperate

This is something on your system, not a game issue. Diagnosing it is going to be down to you, or people you know. Not knowing your system makes things extremely difficult on forums.
Ok, the culprit was "IBM Security Trusteer", a security software which didn't advertise to kill "The Witcher 3" at each launch. Uninstalled and everything looks fine now.
