Hi. I have the console enabled in the game and I know it works, at least, GOD-mode works. But, I don't want to use god-mode. I want to add a bit of money to the game, but I'm not having any luck. I am still at level-1; is that an issue? Maybe I need to advance to a certain point before that command will be enabled?

Thanks for any help for this old, spazzy cheater. hehe

Level 1 is not an issue, but you might need to at least be in White Orchid so that Geralt already has a few crowns.
The command is addmoney(1000) to add 1000 crowns.

This cheat will not be the only one, what, old cheater?

A common problem: Players unable to play the game as it was meant to be are unable to cheat too. But there's a solution: Don't use a sack of mods, cheats, console commands ... but a single one!

For timid and/or talentless players gripped with fear of failure asking for cheats before the first start of the game I recommend the mod "Glorious Victorious +". After installation start the game and wait a few seconds, then press „1“ „2“ „+“ (without quotation marks!!!). No fear: You have 38 seconds to do so.*

This will lead you to the end of the game. You get any achievement available**, any gear etc. In a cutscene Geralt meets all friends and foes, and even some devs will appear – in disguise. They all praise Geralt and the artful playing of his master at the keyboard/controller. Then a bell rings.

Now you should shut down the computer (!!!) because in the next moment the cast – without exception and as if by command – begins to chuckle.

* As far as I know there's a cheat which extends this period - 5 minutes, as far as I heard.
** This mod adds achievements! Popular: Striding Goddess for moving one step forward without losing balance.

This should help. Now restart the game and you can begin a New Game +. Any stats of your equipment are set to "infinite". Somewhat disturbing: There's a permanent background chuckle swelling after each kill. But there should be a mod at nexus ...

Good luck! Hope I could help.

I've already beaten the game and have NG+ available. I just like the ability to add a bit of coin at the start of the game. I think that another's suggestion here is correct and I just need to advance the game a bit. I'm not very good at the whole "dodging" thing so that's why I cheat a bit. But not so much that I can't be killed like anyone else.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I think I had set the console using the wrong user setting file. I found it via that video you linked to and saved. I'll try it out soon. Funny that GOD mode worked already, though. I know because after enabling it I was able to swim underwater as long as I liked with nothing on-screen showing how much air I had left. Perhaps GOD-mode is a universal setting for those who otherwise would not alter their file settings? Strange.

Anyway, thank you for the link and suggestions, though I am still so new to the game and, having not played for many months after my first playthrough, it remains a fairly new experience so I will take my time playing, even if I never get to enable the money cheat.
EDIT: I should add that I've tried a few times using the "AddMoney ###" console command with no success. We'll see and I'll report back soon.

I've been trying for an hour and no luck. I just wonder if the developers have somehow disabled this function because I was able to add money on my last playthrough. Disappointing to say the least.

I found the issue. All fixed. Thanks to those who don't troll threads for shits and giggles.

Muhahahaha. Perhaps you try to beat your very first game in your life without cheating. Or what about seeking for a less torturing hobby?

I love you too, my little squeaky duck. You are so cute in all your awkwardness.

It is not working because you are using wrong command. It is not "AddMoney ###" but it should be:
addmoney(10000)
if you want to add 10000 - I just checked it and it is working the way I am showing above.

Just copy and paste and modyfy number in brackets according to how much you want.

Of course better to play the game without cheats, but since it's not your first time it's understandable I guess. Well, sort of. But let's not judge. There are a pack of various cheat and console commands, and rather many can be seen here:
https://witcher.gamepedia.com/The_Witcher_3_console_mode

As an aside, it's kinda fun to turn on god mode and then spawn a huge pack of foes. 100 drowners or endrega warriors or something.
