As soon as I walk Geralt down the stairs and he walks outside onto the balcony, the game freezes. I have tried again and again on every graphical setting, but every time it's the same. Does this happen for anyone else?

My system shoujld plenty capable of running this game well:
4GHz i7-4790K, 16 GB RAM, GTX 780Ti
Windows 8, updated Witcher 3 GeForce driver.

I thought unremappable keys was frustrating, but a locked game in the first five minutes is worse.

I have the same issue. The game works perfectly on the frist floor but freezes always at the end of the stairs, it's probably the beginning of a cutscene. I am unable to pass this point.
I have tried several drivers and graphical setting but it always happened.

No :(
Try turning off movie super sampling. Go to:

<install path>\bin\config\base\

and open visuals.ini (MAKE A BACKUP FIRST). Under the [Visuals] section either add or modify the line

MovieUbersampling=false

It does not work.
I did this:

1) Right-click on your GalaxyClient folder -> properties -> security -> make sure every entry (group/user) got full access
2) do the same for your GOG Games & The Witcher Wild Hunt folder if possible.

Let me know if it worked. And even if you dont use Galaxy just care about step 2).

Same thing with update 1.07.
First time that I am unable to fix a game.

Edit: Miracle, V 1.08 solved the issue.
