Just curious. Why doesn't ciri need two swords to kill monsters and everything else? I have not yet reached skellige, so if the answer is in the game no spoilers please.

Finished the game and there is no real answer given to this question :p

Ciri is not a Witcher. She already has a sword, and if you get one particular ending (no spoiler), you will see that she does need two. If you take note during the time you control her, you will see that she needs to make certain 'preparations' for her sword.
Did a little digging and as it turns out in the Witcher novels silver swords are used only against monsters that have a specific vulnerability to silver like werewolves. Everything else just needs a steel sword. The game developers deceided to change it so as to encourage active use of both swords.

In books Ciri was given a sword "Gwyhyr" by Leo Bonhart which she named "Zirazel" ("Nightgale" or polish "Jaskółka"). But because she has never became witcher herself (only received proffesional training) she hasn't received a silver sword from Kaer Morhen.
