Just curious if the prevailing feelings here are different from the official forums, since this place frankly seems more grognard-y. Anyone else disappointed with recent decisions by CDPR? Focusing on an emergency waifu-patch instead of fleshing out the main story. No Enhanced Edition, ever. Crappy main storyline in B&W full of holes, fanservice, and under developed characters. Next big project being P2W Gwent.

I really thought this company of all of them might not go to pot as soon as they went mainstream. But I'm frankly losing faith.

...
an emergency waifu-patch
Can we have that in plain English?
There was a massive protest and online petitions demanding more Triss dialogue be added to the game. To date it's the closest thing TW3 has to an Enhanced Edition.

Oh, I can see where this is going. I'm not biting.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I have an annoying bug in my game that causes Triss to exist.

Hopefully they will take care of that problem for me in the next patch.
That wasn't really the nature of the complaint but sorry for indirectly insulting your waifu.

I firmly believe we should keep an eye on every company and hold them to a standard. That said, CDPR in my opinion has been on the decidedly "nicer" / more fan-friendly side of the scale, so I'm willing to give them some leeway and the benefit of the doubt. Until they start pulling some EA-level shadiness, I have a good amount of faith that they know what they're doing, and aren't trying to screw with their fanbase.
You should never have faith in any organization or ever give on the benefit of the doubt. The only reason TW2 doesn't have securom to this day is because the fanbase went ballistic over it.
I disagree. It's okay to have faith, so long as it isn't blind faith. I believe in CDPR (and other companies/organizations) until they give me a reason not to. I likely haven't had the experiences you have, so I don't feel negativity towards them at the moment; I like CDPR, but if they ever changed into something I didn't like, I may no longer support them.
Faith is blind by definition. You may have faith in CDPR but you can be sure CDPR doesn't have faith in you. You're part of a calculated set of market research data, not a friend.

I think 'faith' is a less accurate description than 'trust'. I trust CDPR much more than I do the majority of other companes and how they've handled TW3 has not changed that. If they do anything I consider unethical in the future then that trust would be shaken as it has been done by other companies before. I don't believe that the GOTY edition or the lack of an EE is unethical and the free DLC program they have run and their parent companis committent to fair pricing through GOG reaffirm they are still committed to value for money. IMO.

Not... sure where you got this idea that I saw CDPR as my "friend". That kind of assumption makes it seem like you will accept no other conclusions but your own. They are a business, and at least to me, they have been a reputable business thus far. That's all.

And I disagree that all faith is blind -- if my son consistently brings home A's, I can have faith that he will continue to do so based on his past performance. Finally, as I said, if CDPR starts being shady, they will lose my faith (or as kabbieman suggested, "trust").

Someone didn't have enough nappy time. If you think CDPR is so bad i would love for you to show me another software developer that is even on the same level as they are? That company just doesn't exist so please just leave and go back to EA who paid you to come here and make this post.

I would just rather call them utterly incompetent. Witcher 3 has been the buggiest game I have ever played. I mean, the little things that can and will go wrong is just mind-numbing. I have also encountered a couple of game-breaking bugs.

It is important to note that I find new bugs during each playthrough.

And by the way, don't mind hickory, he's an autistic shill.
