I got bought a physical box copy of Witcher 3 last week for my birthday.
Sadly, I've checked all over and there is no GOG.com code.
Yet, I need the patches because i have already encountered a gamebreaking bug.
Can someone please tell me how i can get a GOG to see that I have indeed bought their game because all GOG.com says is 'connect now'. But I haven't got the code. :*0

There should be a gog.com code with every retail copy. If you are 100% certain there is not one, then you need to ask the person who bought the game for you where they got it from so you can take it up with the seller.
Typically, the code is on the back of the manual that comes with the physical copy.

Hope you can find it.

If you cannot - contact GOG support - they may tell you the same as Hickory - go back to the seller - but it would seem strange to me that a physical box would not have the code.

I bought the game of ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THE-WITCHER-3-WILD-HUNT-PC-DVD-POLISH-ENGLISH-LANGUAGE-/272043376798?hash=item3f570c809e:g:~LgAAOSwuTxV8KBS

It says on the buying that it did not come with a GOG code, but I didn't know that a GOG code would be anything important; I just thought that it would be some special offer or something.... Dammit!

Would GOG send me a code because I really have got some bugs which need the patches?

pS: Thanks for the responses all :)

You bought a used copy. In the description of the item on Ebay says like new, not new. The seller (or the seller provider) may have used the code, and sold the physical copy.

Bleedin' hell! I should've checked. Guess it's nobody's fault but my own, is my copy still legal?

It's legal as the box but no code then no gog.Sorry.
Who ever sold it is likely using code for themselves.

The link to ebay the TC shared says "5 available 121 sold" which means the trader bought the physical copies (from the Polish release version) and now sells them for a profit - any codes are likely used already. It's also imaginable the codes where sold separately for double profit.

Let's not beat around the bush here: you've been had. Not legally, because it wasn't sold as new, but everybody knows what's going on here.

Would GOG send me a code
Why should they? Just write this off to experience, bite the bullet and grab a legal copy at half price right now.

Never buy second hand or used items on ebay but only brand new, then you can make a claim via ebay/s guarantee. There is scum like that everywhere looking for victims and it's bad luck that they got caught out.

Do you think it would be legal if I were to pay extra for the code now? I messaged the trader and for an extra £8 he'll sell me the code and after the hours I've invested, I need the patches. Would that be legit?
If the games aren't stolen, then it is fully legal, I suppose. Both parties have accepted the conditions for the trade, so there's no problem with it.

I don't know if it is illegal to sell the codes separately. But my guess is that there is no law restricting it.

Yes,as long as the code he gives is legit. There is always the possibility that he could send you a dud or a code that gog doesn't recognize or already used. It's a tricky situation and it's cheap enough but it's up to you.

You are missing the point completely: you have ALREADY been had. Are you willing to risk it, and your money, again? Don't be foolish a second time!
Seems like P.T. Barnum had it right.
