from
https://www.gog.com/downloader/listing/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt Those worked perfectly for me. Do you have the
Downloader installed?
PS: Installing the patch right now...
Eirreann: Yeah, I have it installed. As I said, when I click on the link (on the page you linked me to), the files will download in GoG Downloader as an unknown file type titled "a". It's only a few Kb large. Not sure what's going on there....
RvLeshrac: The difference between today and the release of HL2 is that we've had ten years of technology and scalability lessons to build on.
Ten goddamned years.
There's no excuse for not being able to produce a scalable software distribution client in the year 2015.
Eirreann: That's not really the issue. The issue is not anticipating the sheer number of people that would try to access web-based content all at once and overloading the servers. It happened with Half-Life 2 (and many other games besides [practically every big MMO launch in recent memory], and now it seems to be happening to the hands-down biggest patch of one of the most popular games of the year. I'm not surprised in the least, nor do I hold anybody at fault.
If only someone like Akamai, Amazon, Microsoft, AT&T, Limelight, Accelia, BitNet, or dozens of other companies provided indefinitely scalable on-demand content hosting and delivery.
