same problem here captain

Eirreann: Cuz Steam totally never had that problem (Half-Life 2 #neverforget).
HL2, LOL, on release day it took fucking 6 hours to "decrypt" the files from the disk.

I'm downloading the patch through the GOG downloader. It's nearly finished.

Hmm, I tried to do that, but the patch just says "Coming Soon" next to it, and the link downloads a blank file titled "a"...
The difference between today and the release of HL2 is that we've had ten years of technology and scalability lessons to build on.

Ten goddamned years.

There's no excuse for not being able to produce a scalable software distribution client in the year 2015.

Those worked perfectly for me. Do you have the Downloader installed?
PS: Installing the patch right now...

Yeah, I have it installed. As I said, when I click on the link (on the page you linked me to), the files will download in GoG Downloader as an unknown file type titled "a". It's only a few Kb large. Not sure what's going on there....

That's not really the issue. The issue is not anticipating the sheer number of people that would try to access web-based content all at once and overloading the servers. It happened with Half-Life 2 (and many other games besides [practically every big MMO launch in recent memory], and now it seems to be happening to the hands-down biggest patch of one of the most popular games of the year. I'm not surprised in the least, nor do I hold anybody at fault.

Downloading from the site doesn't work as well.
Files are either corrupted or not complete, because they are just 2 parts of file named "a", that you can neither open nor start.
What a fail.
Galaxy fails, then the usually bugging for something site does the same, not a big surprise actually.

Eirreann: Yeah, I do. This is what happens when I try to download it:
Strange. Sadly, since it works for me I can't offer any help.
Seems patch files have been taken offline? Frustrating.
Phew, good to know that I'm not the only one with this problem. Will wait a couple of hours and try again, good luck everyone and have a blast with the update!
What a freaking fiasco. I like GOG but at least Steam can deliver patches in a reasonable manner.

Thanks all the same. I'm glad that it worked for you, at least. :)

They're still showing up for me in my account / Library.
