I hope someone can help I reformatted my SSD which only has my OS on it and have my Witcher 3 and other games on my HDD but i had the Witcher 3 saves on C:\Username\Documents\The Witcher 3\gamesaves like normal and i backed the saves up to my HDD and 3 Thumb drives just to be safe and not loose them. Now i got done reinstalling windows 10 but their is no The Witcher 3\gamesaves anywhere to be found in my documents for me to put my old saves back. When i play the Witcher 3 and start a new game their still is no The Witcher 3\gamesaves in my documents yet the game is clearly saving because it saves the new gamei started when i go to continue. Does GOG have a block put in place where once you remove or backup your saves it is impossible to use them again? I hope not. An image below is what i am seeing i really hope someone can help because i do not want to start back over.

Just throwing out a few suggestions here. First one, have you checked User\Documents\etc on all your drives? (the SSD and HDD) Also, I don't think this is the issue but it's worth a try, have you checked "show hidden files" in the Documents folders? Since you said the game let you continue off of a newly saved file, obviously it's saving somewhere, and having a block doesn't sound like something GOG would do.

Your syntax is tough to follow but just in case I'm reading you correctly...Windows 10 by default does away with My Documents, and instead lumps your documents into some other folder (I think just Documents, iirc). Perhaps since My Documents only exists as a legacy compatibility thing, you're looking for your games in the wrong place? Go into File Explorer and search for "ManualSave*.sav" without the quotation marks, or AutoSave*.sav or CheckPoint*.sav if you haven't made any manual saves yet.

That should get you to your games.

I did what you said and only saves from other games showed up :( My Documents are all ok and nothing changed expet Witcher 3 Saves are not where Project Red puts them. THey are now somewhere i ca not find. :(

Ok so it turns out it is saving my Witcher 3 Game saves and ONLY my Witcher 3 game saves to some idiotic thing called One Drive and i guess GOG only allows me to have saves on One Drive

Did you do a windows search for the files?

That doesn't make sense, since OneDrive is a Windows feature, and has nothing to do with GOG. Maybe you can figure out your problem if you read up a little bit on the Microsoft website where it talks about OneDrive.

I mean, I don't use Win10, but it doesn't seem like GOG would require you to use OneDrive, since they also support non-Windows operating systems.

Ok thank man. What really got me sad is i built a new PC lately, got an MCI 980TI GOLDEN that i custom painted blue, got an i7-67900K and some DDR4 4x4GB ram, and a water cooler for CPU and a good case with mnay NOCTUA fans and when it was all together, tested, and running good i was so exited to be able to play Witcher 3, my favorite game at 1440p with every possible setting on Ultra even Hairworks MSAAx8 and i went to play it and................no save.........Dude i almost cried cause i got the new GPU just for this game lol :( But now its all good and i get a flawless 60FPS at all times at 1440p. Thanks for the help you all gave me :) I will be disabeling One drive or going back to windows 10 because Windows 10 forces things on you that you have no chouce. One Drive forces you to use it and forces you to put a many personal files for windows to view which is stupid and sounds like the NSA is a jerkk
