Can't get Hattori to appear at docks after dusk for the swords and dumplings quest. Blacksmith icon is on the map but he is nowhere to be found. I have left and come back after doing other quests and still nothing????

Try saving and re-loading at that position.Sometimes works.

Try talking to him again in his shop. The quest actually has a time constraint. If you don't meet him right away on the first upcoming dusk he returns back home. You can reactivate it from there.

vbiasi: Try talking to him again in his shop. The quest actually has a time constraint. If you don't meet him right away on the first upcoming dusk he returns back home. You can reactivate it from there.
Need to find his shop again --right at the entrance to town if I remember? The anvil icon is still at the docks. Tried saving and reloading-didn't work.

OK just went and found him in his shop. Cussed me for not showing. That appeared to work, thanks.

I did a similar thing -- not going straight there when it told me to -- because I accidentally started the quest at much too low a level. He wasn't there when I went to the docks, but meditating made him appear and start the cutscene.

Yup somewhere near the entrance to town is how I remember it as well. The Dumpling Salesmen.

Sorry to reopen this, but in my game he is neither at the docks after sundown, nor at his shop at any time of the day. Saving and reloading didn't help either. Any further suggestions?

Edit: I actually just found him wandering the streets back to his shop, after staying close to him he eventually walked back to the docks and I was able to follow and talk to him then.
