same problem here
All three tells me,it's a bug.
This quest is still broken as of patch 1.07 I am at the part where I am supposed to search the baron's bedroom for clues and only 3 clues are showing up red using my Witcher sense. I can "Examine" them but none result in Geralt saying anything or advancing the quest. Any ideas?

I've signed up because of an issue with this quest. I got the bad ending and was going for the most positive outcome in the game but when it came to talk to Tamara in Oxenfert she simply isn't there and I cannot talk to the Baron either about his family, it's just routine questions.

Actually, there should be one more clue. <Hint> On the floor. (But IIRC Geralt does make comments while examining the red clues.) Once you fint the clue on the floor, you should be able to make progress.

Unfortuantely for myself and some others the item isn't on the floor *Witcher sense doesn't show it, and we cannot continue with the quest. It seems the quest can bug at several locations. Here is a video of how the quest is bugged for myself though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxqiTyciJpc

Hmm. I don't know what else to suggest. Apparently it's a well-known bug. I guess you've tried loading a previous save? Exit game, exit GOG or tried playing off line, then reloading game? Even restarting computer/console? Did you check out Tamara's room too? (I'm on computer, never had a problem with bloody baron quests.)

SPOILER

The video did not show Geralt inspecting every nook and cranny. I misremembered the hint about the clue on the floor. To get that clue, yes, you check out the red clues of the candlestick and on the wall. There should be a painting that matches the wall clue, on another wall nearby, that hides a hole. IIRC the painting should show up red too. Go further into the room. There's a wardrobe/closet with a hole inside, behind that painting, and another red clue that matches the candlestick. Go back to the candlestick and voila! There's the clue on the floor, a wine stain that you follow the scent, leads to another red clue on the stairs, and then the trail ends. Talk to the baron about what you found.

Now that I am thinking about this, I wonder if you have to check out the Find a Witch quest first. I held off doing the bloody baron, and did a bunch of other things first, including finding Keira Metz (who has a whole questline - if you help her with her first quest, she tells you about the witches in Crookback Bog, but you can hold off doing the rest of her questline). So the question is, did you do the bloody baron right away when it became available, OR does doing other quests/things first NOT bug the bloody baron? Or is the bug random?

As for Tamara, you had to check out her room and follow a trail that leads to a secret room in the cellar. When it comes time for the lubberkin and it leads you to the fisherman (?) who helped Anna and Tamara, you should be able to find Tamara in Oxenfurt and talk to her. She refuses to return with you. If you already did the witches of Crookbag Bog, you then *know* that Gran is Anna.

One thing I found is to not reveal to the baron about Anna, if you've already found her. Tell him about Tamara first, then have Geralt ask the baron to tell about Ciri. After that, talk to the baron again and tell him about Anna. He'll want to go immediately to Crookback Bog. Go with him.

As for the horseshoe red clue - IIRC there are other clues - clothes, I believe, where they changed, behind that house. *I think* the lubberkin then moves on to the fisherman's house. But it could be a bug, unfortunately.

To get the "good" ending for the bloody baron quest - and there is much discussion on it - where the baron takes Anna to find a healer in the mountains - Tamara does not return to the family no matter what: and you MUST go with the baron back to Crookbag Bog, do not let him go by himself, to get Anna. The saving of the children (free whispering hillock) or saving of the village (kill whispering hillock) - that's just a matter of your own judgement. I chose to kill it. Doesn't have any bearing on what the baron does. I accompanied the baron to get Anna and in the end, he took her away to find a "cure".

I have tried just about everything and I think that game is just bugged. No other clues show up in the room (It is like that part of the quest didn't start correctly so now there is no way to proceed) I tried doing other quests and side quests including all of Keira's questline and all other quests around my level in the zone. I was really hoping the 1.07 patch would fix it. In the mean time I've actually started over using another save from the very start.

Well, I'm glad that you haven't given up on the game. You'd be justified if you had and I wouldn't blame you a bit. It's just so damn frustrating, I'm sure. Good luck on your re-start!
I had a bug problem too in the family matters quest after the new patch.... then i made the quest completly new from an older save and now i finished the quest.... i think the problem is when you made the patch update with an save file in the middle of a quest.... sry for that proffessional english
After looking for the "conjurer" i go to the see the "bloddy baron" and it begins a figth with fist, then i appear in a another location, and after beat him, the screen turns black with the "loading icon" and it takes 'till infinite...

I dont know what to do.
Well at least someone made it that far with that quest...I was trying to do that quest around level 12-14 or there abouts...got all the way out I the point where you have to beat the bloody baron bloody but after I knock him out it goes to the loading screen and it just loads forever never moving to the next scene..I gave up and continued the game...why have they not fixed this yet...I've seen so many people complaining about the bloody baron quest line....and the fact that you get important info about ciri (for that early in the game) and yet they have not even attempted to fix the quest line with a small patch or anything...i know you found out through other means what happens to her I've already been to skellige and whatnot...it just seems like they don't care to try and fix it and that bugs me...also because that quest is bugged it will not let me *SPOILER* go down the well to obtain the wolf gear silver sword...so this stupid quest hinders me in two ways now which is why I even bothered to sign up here..I hope they fix this stupid quest line soon
