I have a 360 controller but I can't seem to get it to work with this game. It only works at the main menu. Once I get into the game itself no dice. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Be more descriptive and specific as possible.

Real X360 versus Windows Version.
Wired vs Wireless.

Operative System.
Other Games, etc.

have you configured the control from the Launcher(Where you set the graphic options etc?)

Try:
OPTIONS > CONTROL OPTIONS > CHOOSE CONTROLLER > GAMEPAD
(IN-GAME!!!)

This does nothing. The patch broke controller use, as both thumbsticks no longer work in menus (including the quick menus).

Aspenwood: This does nothing. The patch broke controller use, as both thumbsticks no longer work in menus (including the quick menus).
Analog sticks (thumbsticks) are not working in menus/inventory/journal (D-Pad works fine)... i can scroll journal entries with mouse scroll wheel (until they fix analog sticks)... and you can't control Geralts movement or camera... you even can't go to the menu with a controller (gamepad) if that option is set to keyboard!

p.s. I'm playing this game with wireless XBOX 360 controller!

I'm using wired. Dpad only in menu and Sign selection...meditation etc. Movement outside menus is fine. venting frustration here as well http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/xbox_controller_not_working_properly_after_patch
