Troll Trouble is included in patch 1.1 For the preorder downloads click on the bottom link that hanns.g posted.
Hey,

I had a similiar error with the DLC that I managed to resolve by going to registry editor (regedit) and deleting the correct registry binary.

To achieve this you must first open regedit, then browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / CD Projekt RED / The Witcher 2 / Downloads. Here you will see a bunch of REG_BINARY files which you can click with the right mouse button. Select ~Edit Binary and you should be able to tell which DLC it is by looking at the field. Now you must delete the Binary file that corresponds to the dlc that is not working.

Remember that editing the registry can be hazardous if you're unsure of what you're doing, so proceed with caution.

EDIT: I have not found a way to make the free 'dlc' work however; just fix the issue with the launcher. I would suggest holding off on the dlc for now and checking back later.

I did what you said,Installed the DLCs but the "error writing file" is still there and very annoying

"The "Downloadable content" option in the Game Launcher does not work properly, please don't use it."

you can try and delete the troll that the game has downloaded.
there is one where the save game are stored, in the downloads folder. delete that
another one might be in your installation directory. troll.dlc
dont touch troll.dzip, that one comes with the patch
if you want to be safe, just move the files somewhere safe, and move them back if you get any troubles
Same situation with me. The game still tries to download the Troll DLC...
I tried to uninstall the vanilla game, deleted all the files it left in Users directory and installed it again and applied patch 1.1 right after instalation. Result? The launcher is still disconnecting and trying to download DLC, which is obviously included in the patch itself. What?
Have you tried updating to 1.1 ? http://en.thewitcher.com/patch/

I never had this problem, so just a pot shot.

Did you try:

DLC

* Launcher keeps redownloading DLCs

- Close launcher and run patcher.exe from game directory. That should reset launcher settings.

from the FAQ on main page?

I tried this solution and it helped solve my cause of troll troubles! Thank you kind sir!
Bah, formatting.

See if this works:

Close launcher and run patcher.exe from game directory. That should reset launcher settings

And then don't initiate any DLC from launcher if it resets! :)
